Who was in charge of our economy while blair was pm? Whilst unemployment fell to record lows and the economy saw a steady rate of inflation and growth?also when the Tories were last in office interest rates were around 17% then as soon as it was election time they'd reduce the rates a few % to win votes from the people who, without meaning go be rude, were niave enough to buy their bullshit.

That was horses for courses.Brown was in charge of an economy in a world situation which favoured him.EVERY country had unemployment fall to low levels (though the growth of public sector jobs was huge in this country and we're footing the bill for that) EVERY country had rapid and sustained growth.World inflation was low because China was flooding the world with cheaper and cheaper goods.
The Tories were struggling with an entirely different environment with world-wide unemployment and inflation with an economy in dire need of modernisation.UK PLC was , in 1979 , considered to be a terminal case.The treatment was hard and painful but successful , just in time to hand a thriving and competitive economy on a plate to G.Brown.It's unfair and misleading to compare the two situations.
