They both suck ass. One was frat boy trash in the 80's the other is frat boy trash today. If I was stranded on a deserted island with just a Springsteen CD and a Hack Johnson CD, I'd chuck both into the ocean and listen to nothing.

In terms of songwriting and performance, there are not many who are in Bruce's league, and Jack is not one of them. Bruce Springsteen has created at least two all-time classic albums (Born to Run and BITUSA), and several other very good ones.

I don't really care for either, and I'd prefer to listen to Bruce if having no other choice any day. Everyday at work I hear Jack Johnson's horrible cover of Lennon's "Imagine" and every day I have the same feelings of wishing he'd never tried.

I will say that there are a very few songs be Springsteen that I can at least listen to without jamming a pencil into my ears,but one is probably THE most overrated individual artist,and the other just flat out sucks.
