is mass effect good?

hey i am about to get a new game and i was thinking of getting mass effect, but i dont know if it's good or not?

I love Mass Effect. It's from Bioware and uses the conversation system that is in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire. Your actions have consequences throughout the game and effect the story. If you like RPGs or you're a fan of Bioware you should definitely check it out.

It's an okay game. Jade Empire and KOTOR were better, though. The thing with Mass Effect is it's either a really fun part, or a really boring part, no in between. The first part of the game is amazing. the last part of the game is amazing. The middle, however, sucks (the 3 planets Feros, Noveria, and Atemis Cluster). But I would say buy it since it's super cheap now and the sequel will be coming out soon.

I swill admit that the plot that you learn about on the planet before the final one is some of the saddest stuff in video game history.

Was good, not a blockbuster but had its awesome moments. Waiting for the sequel now, they say early 2010 release date. Plenty of time to play part 1 until the sequels release, plus you can use your save file from part 1 in Mass Effect 2.

I gave it ago a while back. Got a lend of it from a cousin. I have no clue as to what section I am in. But I gave up on the game. It just felt like a chore to me. Plenty of others think different though, I guess it is all down to personal preference. I think the bit I got to was in some sort of market place and I had to search for something or someone I can't remember if they had a bomb or not. I dont remember exactly, it was a while back. I dont think I will bother to go back to the game.

Shame you didnt give the game a chance. I hate RPG's myself, but the sci fi nut side of me won me over and I have to admit this is an awesome game. A friend recommended it to me and I hate to admit he was right in his estimations of the game being as awesome as it is. Excellent plot, worthy of a tv show all of its own, potential for massive spin offs and expansion, the creators have done them selves proud by creating this universe all unto itself. Average play through 26 hours, if you have the patience to do everything (I think I counted upwards of 80 side quests) but so enjoyable ive done it 5 times already!
