I don't think porn in and of itself is against God. I think that things like God and sex are rather personal things, so everyone is going different views on what is appropriate or not.

Really, if it is, it doesn't matter. If you think it's wrong to YOU and still partake in it, you should first try to understand why YOU think it's wrong. There's no proof of it being wrong or even being against god, as being bad itself.

That's what us arrogant humans would like to think that there is no God. Human pride gets in the way too much and we would like to believe in our own minds that morality is what you make it and that everything revolves around us. People created religion as an attempt to reconcile with God, nothing more. God has nothing to do with religion.

So how do you know that people didn't create "god" at the same time as they created religion? Do you have any proof at all that shows conclusively that there is a "god" who created the universe.

Man has always wanted to make sense of the world in which he lives in and I'm sure a couple millenia ago whenever that sun started to creep its way over the horizon it would be thought of as a miricle and you could see why and there would be no doubt that there was someone up there in the "heavens" pulling the strings. But that was long before we knew how gravity works and how the planets orbit that sun. No, "god" is an explanation of the world from a much simpler time. We are smarter beings than we were now and the answers and theories being put before us by modern science are far more interesting and provable notions of how the world came into being. Than anything a single creator "god" could come up with.

I have heard this arguement that not to believe in god is a sign of human "arrogance" many times and think they have it exactly backwards.

Whats arrogant is for humans to think that we are some sort of divine creature that the world and everything was created for.We are just more evolved animals,thats all.When we die we are dead and rot and thats it just like any other animal.To think anything else is arrogant.

Edit: Oh and BTW I am kinda surprised by the poll numbers here.If we are talking about religions there is no doubt at all that for almost all of them porn would be seen as sin,a pretty serious sin at that.
