Jason Giambi unceremoniously released, slammed by Oakland

1,000 posts to go for my own user title!
The A's have given Jason Giambi(notes) his walking papers, ending his return to Oakland and, most likely, his controversial career.

Given Giambi's performance this season, it's not exactly surprising news. However, I find it funny that Oakland took the measure of pointing out just how bad the 38-year-old was this season while announcing his departure.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Can we do an edit/replace of Jason Giambi with David Ortiz and send this out from Fenway Park?

I remember when Jason Giambi was a great baseball player,...like ten years ago.

Is it bad that I could care less what happens to Jason?

Not at all. He's a fucking cheat. Fuck him. Good riddance.

It used to make my blood boil when John Sterling would refer to him as "The Giambino"....a Ruthian reference that should make the ghost of the Babe haunt him forever.

Damn, Amen, Rev! I have to agree with you. There's on place in Cooperstown for someone like him.

Conspiracy...
With the right training he would probably do better than Griffey Jr. did.

So, he can come to the Reds. Welcome aboard and don't mess up.

This "scandal" is nothing more than a wag the dog, witch hunt.
Something that could have been handled behind closed doors by MLB.

Most of the time they are guilty of much worse.

This was and is the responsibility of MLB, not the government. ;)

Eh, not much MLB could have done with him considering he was the second biggest name on the client list of a company at the center of the largest illegal steroid raid of the past 20 years.
