Somehow I don't think so. Its a fantasy film. People still read the books & enjoy them. Same with Wells' War of the Worlds.

Really wish that they didn't drop the "Of Mars" from the title.Now it just sounds like something generic.

I could go either way on this movie right now.

I think I will see this and the new Solomon Kane movie that is coming out, I like this ressurgence of Robert E. Howard stories.

Solomon Kane came out over a year ago.

And John Carter is Edgar Rice Burroughs (my favorite author, btw).

I've been waiting for this movie my whole life. Not sure if I'm excited or terrified.

Yet the "M" is in the title graphic. I agree, too, about dropping "of Mars"because for me, and assumingly for the rest of the movie-going public, it can get lumped in easily with the Larry Crownes, Michael Claytons, etc.
