Now I'm not a fan of Basketball or of Kobe Bryant but I nonetheless think he's innocent. The fact that the woman had sex the same day as supposedly being raped by Kobe and given her sexual past history of liking rough sex, plus the fact that she's coming up with a bogus reason for dropping the criminal case and opting to sue Kobe instead makes me think she's just looking for attention and money. What do you think?

Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference.
I don't know much about the case but her liking rough sex and having sex earlier in the day shouldn't have anything to do with whether or not she was raped! I don't think Kobe is guilty because I think I read something where she consented to it but her mother filed charges because she was underaged? Maybe I'm mistaken about that...

I think she was 19 when it happened but I'm not sure. And it's possible that she had rough sex (faking rape) after having sex with Kobe and then going to the police and saying Kobe raped her.

I guess that's possible but wouldn't that get rid of any trace evidence that Kobe would have left inside of her?

There would be traces of both... And they can tell.

I don't think Kobe did... I think maybe it came across that way in the end to the girl because it wasnt what she thought it was going to be.

But there is nothing illegal with being a bad lover. Its sad that it happened to her, but you reap what you sow.

I think that she is trying to get out of criminal as an option. Lawyers like to make sure their clients have all options covered. They won't fully commit to one or the other until they know which one will give her more satisfaction.

I personally think that she should sue and get money if it weren't rape but she felt that she was hurt by the situation (as above.) Even women that aren't raped but are abused should get something.

I hate these god damned celebrity trials. Why should we care any more about what happens at these trials than any other trial?

All trials should be closed to the media until after the ruling. Then all the media should get is the transcript. Anyone participant of the trial who talks to the media during or after a trial should be thrown in jail. The justice system is a being tried in the public media and that is undermining the point of a trial by 12 peers.

I especially hate the trials about nobodies that have nothing particularly special about them, but the media seemed to have latched onto them and forced them into the public eye. Examples, the murders of Lacy Peterson and JonBenét Ramsey.

I mean there is a fucking E! True Hollywood Story about Lacy Peterson. WTF?!

^ yes thats me!
i dont really know, but i'm leaning towards that he did it. the way his lawyers keep wanting to throw out EVERY bit of evidence just seems a little suspicious. if your innocent, why are you so worried about evidence? just doesnt add up to me. BUT that doesnt mean that he's guilty.

and people have problems, doesnt make them liars. i dont see why her problems are an issue. i've gone through my share of depression and stuff, but it never turned me into a liar. liking rough sex and rape are two different things, rough sex is 2 people in agreement, rape is one person wanting sex and getting it against the other's will. dont see the connection at all. BUT that also doesnt mean she isnt lying either.

dont know dont care, i always make my own theories on this kinda stuff though. i guess i care enough to do that lol. but i'm not following the case or anything, just heard bits and pieces on the news.

and i agree amstrad, terrible things happen all over, but only the select view get publicity. a young kid was found dead here, they thought one of his relatives may have done it, i never heard another thing about that kid. but you still hear about joan bennet. interesting isnt it.

and i'm not making light of what happened to the highly public cases, of course they're terrible. but those people are no more important that that little kid that died here, but for some reason, we hear about them all over the world.

I'm not wearing any underpants!
innocent or guilty isnt really the question, its what do u think the outcome of the trial will be ( he will prob get house arrest on his 300 acre estate like martha stewart)

OK, I've never understood this. If, as a woman, you are getting raped, why are you not fighting him off? At some point in the "struggle", you should be able to get a hand free, and atleast scratch the face of your attacker. That would show that clearly, you were trying to fight him off. Instead, it comes to a he said/she said deal. And who do we believe? Rape is a terrible thing, but there has been a history of women lying about being raped (I fully believe Mike Tyson did not rape anyone), simply because they didn't like how they were treated afterwards.

Oh, and as for this case, I don't know how it can be rape, if you brag to your friends afterwards that you had sex with Kobe Bryant.

Well said. As for what is and isn't considered newsworthy, it's all about which stories will generate the highest ratings.... therefore stories which highlight sex and violence are staples of the media. If the person's a celebrity, well then that's a bonus. No doubt if this trial were being televised it would be getting attention akin to OJ Simpson's trial, though I doubt any judge could ever match Lance "I'm dying to be a celebrity" Ito for turning a courtroom into a three ring circus.

I only care because it astounds/sickens me the level people will go to for attention/money/fame. I dont really care whether he's guilty or innocent but I do care about the outcome because in my opinion the girl's a liar looking for all the things I just mentioned and it just sickens me the level of greed that we have succumed to as a people that somebody would do this for those reasons!

whether it is rape or consensual I think the bottomline is he guilty of cheated on his wife, so it depends on your definition of guilty...hehe

You know I'd love to see that trial too parker! If only I thought that they were really going to get just punishment instead of a toned down rich white man punishment!
