Uh, the burden of proof is on them not her. She said they mislead her in claiming water boarding was not being employed.

Now they have to prove they did (if they so choose) but most of the stuff that's been leaked and report says at best the CIA is not sure what they told who when...

First Pelosi says she was told they might be using enhanced techniques, then she said they told her that they had wb'd, then she knew but since it was described as legal by DOJ she didn't want to cause any problems by interfering; then she says they lied to her and even though she's top echelon security and had aides attend specific briefings, she didn't know they were actually going to do it, or that they had; like the CIA doesn't cover their ass with documentation.
She was briefed at least once after Sheikh had been done the reported 83 or 84 times...now even Dems are turning on her, they know the shitstorm forming will refocus National attention on her and the BS she's trying to sell, instead of the admins programs, ie Obama HealthCare Lite.
The CIA and the US Military are the ones doing the actual fighting in the various things the US is involved in, and the last thing Obama needs is a bad relationship with them.
So, now the one person he needs to push through his legislation is about to butt heads with the hard guys...he knows that won't end well.:thumbsup:

Now you're making stuff up as you go....the only thing the Pelosi has said (or admitted to if you will) is she was briefed generally on EITs, which ones they felt they could legally use and their position on EITs.

I don't recall her ever saying she was told they were water boarding....that is a myth I can only imagine being generated by the GOPer echo chamber.

This is how pathetic it has gotten for GOPers that their best hope is that they can take someone down with them..:1orglaugh.

"It is not the policy of this agency to mislead the United States Congress," responded CIA spokesman George Little, although he refused to answer directly when asked whether Pelosi's accusation was accurate.
But the House's top Democrat, speaking at a news conference in the Capitol, was unequivocal about a CIA briefing she received in the fall of 2002.
"We were told that waterboarding was not being used," the speaker said. "That's the only mention, that they were not using it. And we now know that earlier they were." She suggested the CIA release the briefing material.

This is just another Sam The "Plumber" story. In other words, a nothing story being magnified by GOPers.

Pelosi said they never told her they were water boarding. They have to prove they did in no uncertain terms....not imply here or there or suggest by means of the nebulous term EITs....they have to demonstrate they informed Pelosi (in this case) that they were in fact water boarding.

But frankly, they don't have much credibility since there own timeline is contradictory.

To be honest...this issue really sounds like a bunch of bullshit. Nothing more than a situation being blown WAY out of proportion by desperate, clownish republicans who literally have nothing better to do.

What serves as proof, though? A videotape of her at this meeting? I know my name has been attached to many memos about corporate things, in my career, which I had no actual *real* knowledge of those things and never attended the meetings.

If I had to make a guess--Cheney is still bent about the Scooter Libby situation and the Dems in charge possibly sent him a quiet notice that they intend to reopen investigations into his statements and conduct about the war buildup. I bet the Dems intend to ask Colin Powell if Cheney ordered him to lie to the UN. It seems interesting that Cheney pops up like a Jack in the Box all of a sudden, tries to restate that "everything we did made America safe," the present president will usher in a new 9/11, oh, and whatever Colin Powell said, he was never a real Republican, he's a liar, we can't trust him..blah blah blah...

I think Cheney is in rampant Spin mode to preempt a bunch of Congressional subpoenas and while he's at it he's trying to take shots at other people and pass off blame onto others...:dunno:

Was it in the context of saying they were doing it, saying they were not doing it, saying they thought they legally could do it or they legally couldn't do it, or other countries do it or what happened when it was done in the past, etc???
