That was a pretty impressive performance by Lena, I gotta admit, even though I'm not a big fan of the Eurovision song contest. Last time Germany won was 28 years ago. But Lena won by a landslide tonight. Really impressive.
Of course, some of the votes were political decision, as always with the Eurovision song contest (No surprise that one of only three countries that didn't give a single point to Germany was Israel). But a lot of countries did actually vote according to the actual quality of the songs performed.
But I have to say, some of the songs were pretty shitty. I was glad that I could switch to the Klitschko fight during most of the other songs. Especially the French one was unbelievably crappy. There are a lot of great performers in France... and then this? I don't know what they were thinking to send this guy to the song contest. I really liked the songs from the Ukraine and Turkey. Great stuff.
But tonight was a good night for Germany. Our soccer team scores a 3:0 victory against Hungary, Klitschko knocks Sosnowski on his ass and Lena wins the Eurovision song contest. Nice.
