Liberal actress says tea parties were racist

Liberal actress and political activist Janeane Garofalo, in all seriousness, said activists who attended tea parties are racists with dysfunctional brains in a recent prime-time television appearance.

"Let's be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It's not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don't know their history at all. It's about hating a black man in the White House," she said on MSNBC's "The Countdown" with Keith Olbermann Thursday evening. "This is racism straight up and is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. There is no way around that."

Olbermann did not once try to challenge her on those assertions.

The actress went on to describe the brain size of typical "right-winger, Republican or conservative or your average white power activist."

"Their synapses are misfiring. ... It is a neurological problem we are dealing with," she said. This isn't the first time she's offered this analysis, either. Ms. Garofalo said similar things about Alaskan GOP Governor Sarah Palin's brain last February in an interview with an environmental blog.

The actress went on to bash the GOP on MSNBC Thursday because it had "crystallized into the white power movement" as well as Fox News, which she said has captured the "Klan demo[graphic]."

"Who else is Fox talking to? Urban older white guys and their girlfriends who suffer from Stockholm Syndrome," she said.

Ironically, Ms. Garofalo is currently playing a role on the drama 24, which is aired by the Fox Broadcasting Company and is popular among conservative circles.

Well, now... another brain dead liberal from Hollywood that can't say anything nice and has to go on the extreme Liberal MSNBC and cry.

As well, she has ABSOLUTELY no freaking idea what the teaparties were about. She just has to make a story up and scream about it as loud as she can, which I'm certain is what Libs do anyway.

I believe if she keeps this rhetoric up, her head will explode....

... and then I will be happy.

Since the Congress has the right to appropriate, and on that day the overwhelming majority of those in "tea party" attendance were likely getting tax cuts, what were they about?

I got 2 answers to this thread:

1. Janeane Garofalo is a stupid, dimwitted cunt.

2. Last time I checked, the Boston Tea Party (how many others can you think of?) happened because rich white men didn't want to pay taxes! Boy how things have changed! It was all about not wanting to pay taxes on British tea and they threw a temper tantrum, dressed up as Indians and dumped the tea into the harbor. I don't recall reading about blacks or anything remotely related to blacks at all. EVER! Ms. Garofalo should go back to school and restudy American History, because she clearly doesn't know what she's talking about.

At least she is better than that Susan Roesgen at CNN... not that that's saying much though

Children as of right now at the ripe old age of 15 years old already owe the government as much as $13,000 under Obamas' "spend until it hurts your grandkids" spending spree.

The government is spending an unprecedented amount of money that cannot be recouped by this generation or the next, but the generation after that maybe.

THAT is what the Tea Parties were about.

I suppose the counter to that is the people in our country support themselves with jobs, jobs don't exist with industry, industry doesn't exist without business and in most cases where jobs are concerned, doesn't exist without banking.

So if banking tumbles it's not the only domino that going to fall. At least if deficit spending happens domestically, there is a greater chance we'll have to re-coup the investment.

As opposed to a trillion dollars of deficit spending potentially in Iraq. What mechanism is there for recovering that money?

Janeane Garofalo hated something endorsed by conservatives...

Shock! Awe! Amazement! Astonishment!

These are just some of the things I feel from reading this!

Y'know... I have to say that once again- who gives a flying fuck what these people think? Liberal, conservative, whatever. These are, for the most part, people who don't have a lot of education, work in a world of make-believe, and above all else, love attention. Janeane Garofalo is no more suited to talk politics than I am to talk physics.

And it's really awesome for a bitter, out of work actress who is white to start throwing around words like 'racist'. Nicely done, Janeane Garofalo- enjoy the rest of your political activism career, because that acting one? That's pretty much done.

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far
Who you calling racist, ese? The tea perty I attended here in South Texas was full of Hispanics (we're a majority down here) Whites, some blacks (not that many around here), didn't see any asians (too bad, I love those asian girls). I'm Hispanic by the way so I just wonder racist against who? I didn't see anyone there burning crosses or saying spics get out or anything like that.

And about taxes, it's not that I (or the vast majority of those of us who were there) don't want to pay them, I do pay my taxes and I'm okay with it, but we're against excessive taxation and uncontrolled spending. Now, I"m nowhere near as rich as Ms. Garofalo is, not even my boss is, but if my boss' taxes go up, there might go my job, or there might go any raise or any benefits or maybe he won't be able to hire more people.

Now let's come to a compromise...let's all vote for and elect government officials who keep taxes low, and then if you believe you're not paying your fair share, then by all means, feel free to send more of it into the treasury, that way you'll have a CHOICE about how much to pay in taxes, :D yup, I'm pro-choice when it comes to paying extra in taxes

That's interesting since the day you were out there protesting your taxes likely went down and Ms. Garofalo's taxes likely went up. (Sad but true...don't shoot the messenger).

And one thing is for certain, your boss employs you because he needs you to help his company meet a market demand. Unless it's a community or family run endeavor...it's nothing more and nothing less than that. If his business picks up, one or more of the things he may do is hire more people or make the people he's got more efficient. If his business demand lessens one or more of the things he may do is operate at a lesser profit, reduce his staff or curtail benefits. But what won't happen is you getting laid off as a result of some tax. Because he will lose more money since he needs you in order to fulfill a demand. You go away, that demand is potentially unmet. The next person I hear of that has gotten laid off because of a tax will be the first one.

forgive her, she's just been trained to think that way.
you don't like what obama did=you are a racist.
its that SIMPLE.

Bingo.

There are two things that liberals like to call "conservatives" in the US when they disagree with their views: "Racists" and "Nazis". These names called from the very people that brought us Political Correctness, who claim to be for free speech but try to stifle opposing views whenever possible.

And sadly people don't realize till today that electing BHO was the biggest mistake of their life.

Overall she probably makes a valid point but that is not the purpose of my post.My purpose is to let people know that what the original boston tea party and the subsequent revolution was over. The complaint by the colonists was "taxation without representation".That was true since the colonies had no votes(representation) in the govt in England. That is not the case today as we do have elections and representation and while some may not like who won the last two elections (Obama and the dems) and can cry they think the wrong people won they cannot deny they had the chance to vote but simply were in the minority and still are.Obama still has good approval ratings ,too bad right wingers.:1orglaugh

We will see how long Obama lasts and if his so called change will do marvels as he claimed it. Because I and many other people know that his plans are not bringing anything positive and his approval rating will fail :yesyes: You must be naive if you believe that everything Obama promised will happen. Lacking sense of analysis and realism as well as being void of being able of understanding about what people really think of Obama, is why polls and the other shits should never be believed.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
Hating a black man in the white house huh? He's just a man whos a fuck up like all other presidents in the past. Makes no difference his skin color. Convenient how every time someone says something negative about him, they are labeled as "racist"

Crazy4theBrat

Oh no, the old titles are back!
Interesting how anytime someone disagrees with Barrack Hussein Obama, they are automatically labeled a racist. This is of course because anyone with half a brain would naturally see that the guy is perfect. Ms. Garafolo needs to hear the story about the little boy who kept saying "the sky is falling...". If these types keep going with the race card for no reason, people will begin to ignore it.

It's also interesting how the same people who accuse conservatives who disagree with Barrack Hussein Obama of being racist, are the same ones who had absolutely no problem trying to denigrate the character of Sarah Palin. I guess blacks are a sacred cow, but women are still fair game - as long as they are republicans.

Conspiracy...
What?

Janeane Garofalo doesn't know what she is talking about. She's just another pawn in the game the elite like to play.

If she knew anything she would know he is half black. :yinyang:

Also, I'm sending Ron Jeremy to talk to her then tea bag her then give it to her rough. She needs it. That should shut her up and knock some sense into her. :D Unless he agrees with her. I would hope not.

The Boston Tea Party was a direct action protest by colonists in Boston, a town in the British colony of Massachusetts, against the British government. On December 16, 1773, after officials in Boston refused to return three shiploads of taxed tea to Britain, a group of colonists boarded the ships and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbor. The incident remains an iconic event of American history, and has often been referenced in other political protests.

Boston Tea Party

Tea parties are about protesting against a government that has overstepped its bounds. That is all. :hatsoff:

She is, of course, absolutely correct. The point she was making is a point most Liberals have been making since...hmm...the "rise" of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber. And I will tell you what it is. The GOP has decided to align itself with Rednecks and White Supremacists. Can anyone find any person of color at any of those "teabagging events"? Weren't these events really about a conglomeration of points--OBAMA'S GONNA TAKE MY GUNS AWAY WAAAAAAA or OBAMA TEABAGGED THE SAUDIS HAHAHA WAAAAAA or OBAMA LOVES THE GAYS WAAAAAAA or WE HATE ILLEGALS OBAMA WAAAAAAA I think it was about 50% related to some misguided belief about taxes and the other 50% were in support of the Racist Agenda.

The tea party was a silly, pathetic "debut" of the new GOP strategy--rally up and swindle redneck racists into voting for policies like tax cuts and spending cuts which, if enacted, would shrink gov't and make the life of the redneck racist even more depressing than it is today. Does anyone think that companies won't hire Rednecks because they currently pay too high taxes? If we lower corporate taxes than these companies will all of a sudden hire rednecks? I kinda of think the reason rednecks don't have high paying jobs is because they are ignorant and have no payable skills. The best we can hope for out of the rednecks is that they can punch a keyboard *accurately* at some quicky mart retailer and that they show up at work on time and not smelling of booze and cigs basically.

The Republican Party has traded in sandbagging "evangelicals" which is what they did the past 8 years to now fostering populism from Rednecks and white supremacists.

The majority of Americans do no oppose what Obama and the Dems have done because he and they were elected to correct all the disaster messes from Dubya/Cheney/Republican Congress. They were not elected to just follow the Dubya playbook for another 4 or 8 years. But, when everything works out, and the economy's is working and people are finding jobs, these same teabaggers aren't going to all come out again and meet publicly and proclaim, WE WERE WRONG ABOUT IT ALL! OBAMA! OBAMA!

I won't be holding my breath for that moment.
