More incredible wisdom from Rush, the godhead of the GOP, the party of "restraint" - which somehow can't seem to wrap its head around the concept of "enough"!!

Disgusting excerpt:

""A lynch mob is expanding: the peasants with their pitchforks surrounding the corporate headquarters of AIG, demanding heads. Death threats are pouring in. All of this being ginned up by the Obama administration."

When one of his own callers said he agreed with President Obama on this one, Limbaugh replied: "Let me ask you a question. ... You have a company -- let's take AIG out of this 'cause they're so emotionally charged. Let's say that the company being bailed out is the XYZ Widget Company. ... We need them to manufacture widgets and sell widgets and so forth. So why in the world -- or how do you get to the point where you're going to bail out the company, but you don't want the employees to get paid?"

The caller protested that the AIG employees were already getting paid plenty, and Limbaugh responded that the only thing stopping him from making just as much was himself."

For some people life is a game to see how much they can rake in for themselves no matter how much they don't need or how much they have to screw over other people for it. The concept of having enough doesn't exist for them. Greed is like a sickness.

^^ But, I thought the Republican creed comes from Gordon Gecko saying “Greed is Good”

You are seriously confused...that's the Dem Creed, silly.
I get my information from observation...like Chris Dodd, Maxine Waters, Charles Wrangel, Barney Frank, Franklin Raine, Timothy Geitner...wow, there are so many I need to rest my fingers a bit.

While a democratic liberal jew bastard.. I feel it necessary to point out that everything in life is just the other side.. OF THE SAME COIN. While many of us helped put Obama in office, that doesnt scrape off the fact he's a politician. Nor that he's getting paid extremely well. I worked to get him into office and I'll continue working to push what I consider important to the country.. into his agenda. When I see something wrong, I write an email to him. When something needs to be done I write it to the mayor or the governor of this damned state. You dont put a new figurehead on your sailing ship and then stop polishing, proofing and maintaining her! lol

Anyway, they're all politicians. Some more aligned with our views. But keep yer eyes on those wily bastids! Luckily.. we've got a black guy trying to maintain an approval rating with the liberals. That's a hard thing to do in politics. So he's got some pressure on him, already. ;)

Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.
Mr. Know-it-all dickhead is nothing but a hypocritical asshole. Who the fuck follows what this douche spews out over the airwaves anyway? Thanks to Dubya & Co., the elephant party is fucked for a long time to come. If this dickhead was really relevant, then I guess the Dems wouldn't of won the White house and Congress now would they.

Well, I do, and many millions of Americans do as well. He doesn't have to be 100% right, just right about the fuckups you won't hear on the MSM as long as they're still sucking on Obamas dick.
And thanks to the Democrat Party and Obama's Krewe the Republicans are looking forward to excellent election results in a couple of years, since relevance isn't the issue in an election, it's whatever the popular hysteria is at the time. Don't pretend that Obama was elected by a vast majority of the country, it was just by a few percent more of the American voters.
And now that Obama is breaking just about every campaign pledge he made that gave him a seeming difference from John McCain, and plagiarizing McCain's rhetoric on more and more issues (ie "the fundamentals of the economy are sound"), look for the wool to be off the eyes of the middle roaders and independents come Congressional election time...I think now that revulsion to anything Dem will give anyone not a Dem excellent election results.

..From what I know about AIG, they're not exactly a Group of right winged conservatives. AIG is the world's largest underwriter / insurer as well as an international monetary laundering entity. Did you catch that, The World's Largest ? It's in their name, "International" ! Why would they have to comply with America's Anti Trust Laws ? :dunno: It's no wonder why all of these entities are going "Global".
Why is it an American taxpayer liability, having to bailout out an international entity ?
Something to think about anyway.

Remember now, our government is going to turn crisis into opportunity  That in and of itself is much more relevant than anything limbaugh says.

Limbaugh just wants people to keep talking about him and spelling his name right. His formula seems to be working.

Personally, I have stopped listening to him at all in recent months. He's become a grotesque caricature of himself. (won't be seeing any Nutrasystem ads with Rush in 'em. Damn....has he ever blimped up!!). Besides, after watching Hannity & Colmes and The O'Reilly Factor every night, I'm ODed on the conservative spin.

Well, if that's all it is...just take 3 Rachel Maddow shows, followed with one full Olberman tirade, and you'll feel like a few hours of talk radio in no time.
Be careful of the known side effects of the Maddow/Olberman treatment; if you feel your head about to explode, immediately turn on some Lou Dobbs.

LOL....well, I already do the Olberman/Maddow combo so the only talk radio I feel like the next day is sports talk (gotta have my daily dose of Charlie Pallilo!). As for Lou....my head WOULD explode if I added him to the agenda. :1orglaugh

You forgot a few:

Limbaugh falsely claimed "not one Republican voted for the TARP bailout"

http://mediamatters.org/items/200903180032

Well, I believe in pay for performance. If I am hired to do a job and with a bonus for good work, I expect a performance bonus.

These guys failed to epic levels and wrecked the company, now they expect a performance or retaining bonus? How about just being thankful to have a job on the taxpayers bill, clean up the mess and just claim a paycheck?

You are naturally confused...bonuses are paid for performance, not for strategy...no matter how high up in the structure, the direction to take a strategy is determined by the top echelon of management...if you do what you are told and produce, the agreed upon bonus is due.
Later saying the "company" has failed, you are responsible and don't get your bonus, is bullshit. If that were the case, Congress owes us a lot of back pay and perks cash value.
I don't follow what you meant...what few did I forget? You don't really think Rush is a Congressman, now do you?

oh for pete's sake. Limbaugh is not a politician. He's a radio personality. I'd say he's pretty successful, as his (obviously intentionally) inflammatory comments keep people talking about him.

i do find it odd how everyone is tiptoeing around the fact that southern, white Limbaugh is accusing a black man of ginneying up a lunch mob. perhaps a poor choice of words.

These were not performance bonuses (too bad! wish they had been!!) They were employee retention bonuses....basically bribes to keep key employees (and their knowledge of what body is buried where) from walking to a competitor (considering their performance, maybe they should have been paid a bonus to leave). Someone (from government) should have examined these bonuses and made their elimination a part of the vetting process before the bail-out money was so eagerly handed over by the "ready, shoot, aim" method of reacting to all the Wall Street bandits screaming "The sky is falling! The sky is falling!" that our illustrious political leaders all genuflected to in unison last September. So, in essence, what Philbert says is true....the employees stayed, so they got paid. And now these assholes in congress are "outraged"! You guys should have done your fucking homework before you handed over the god-damned money.....fucking idiots.

It kills me that ANYONE is trying to make this a partisan issue (not speaking directly about you, Philbert). There is PLENTY of greed, stupidity, ignorance, selfishness and blame to go around for everyone on both sides of the aisle.

And, as always, the American taxpayer pays the price for it all.:mad:

Although you are often misguided (usually where you disagree with me :D) you absolutely have nailed this situation.
Gee, I wonder why the usual method is to take a few days to discuss a bill, work out some details here and there, etc? Do you think the Dem Congress is in such a hurry to pass everything because they don't want any light shining on the provisions they are putting in? And as we all know...haste makes waste. Like Trillions of Dollars worth...
Is anyone swallowing this shit from Dodd? And Geitner?

Sorry, the right-wingers are WRONG ...

The second the government bought the majority stake in AIG, contracts should have been re-negotiated. There are exceptions to contracts regarding a company that has losses and otherwise would be forced into bankruptcy.

Any right-winger who defends the existing contracts for massive losses that Wall Street has been a part of is utterly outside the box. Had the government not saved AIG, they would have gone into bankruptcy. That means all bets are off on contracts!

I don't know how more simple I can make it. And I say this as a hardcore capitalist myself! CNBC, Limbaugh and so many others keep arguing that this is about "contracts" and "you have to compensate to keep good people" and what not.

WRONG!

AIG is a public entity now. It serves the public interest. It was saved from bankruptcy. Yes, you'll probably lose some good people as a result of changes. But in reality, where did they take us? No one was checking the mortgage-based securities.

For the same reason I get pissed at left-wingers on "entitlements," the fucking right-wingers who argue "contract-obligated bonuses" really piss me the fuck off. I mean, the government could have easily let AIG go into bankruptcy and then there would be absolutely no compensation at all!

AIG is a new company, one accountable to the tax payer, largely a public entity. All contracts are now breakable and must be re-negotiated. Period. All bonuses are suspended.

I'm in agreement...but the fake outrage is not real or justified.
All companies...including Freddie/Fanny...bailed out by the Fed are bankruptcies in all but name. No bonuses should be paid, and though we should never be bailing out every failed corporate behemouth, keep it real and stop these lame smokescreens that only fool the foolish.
