The Libyan man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing is likely to be freed on compassionate grounds next week, the BBC understands.

There's doubt over the conviction and he's got terminal prostate cancer. Sounds like grounds for compassion to me.

Yep well the courts/prison do have a human touch sometimes.

Yes I agree there were many more involved at much higher levels than hime who were never caught.

anyway he is going to die, but the people who had higher responsibilities should have been prosecuted with death penalty

If he wasn't really guilty of it then they are right to do it.But life
imprisonment should mean what it says on the tin
