Louis Theroux meets the Ultra Zionists

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Just saw this on BBC2 tonight and it gives a fascinating insight into the religious trouble in the middle east whatever side of the conflict you fall on, well worth watching if you have an hour to spare. Worth seeing just for the Danish guy who gets in a fight with an IDF soldier, the guy was way out of his depth!

Every time I think about the situation, I come to a different end.

If we accept the fact that the majority around the place goes by religious beliefs, and everything in their lifes must follow their rules, there can be only one solution. A violent one. Because none of the involved could face their Lord after giving in to the others involved, or could they?

The saddest part is that the very same believers on all sides like to say that their religion is the religion of peace.

Well, if you are cynical, you could say there is no peace like that after the last bullett was fired and there is no one left to disagree with you.

I will settle to this stance for today:

Every person that gives up his on final decisions to hand them over to a Spacelord from up above, written about by some stoners in the desert a couple thousand years ago... you are clearly not a sane person and you cannot expect me to treat you like one.

But I am sure, tomorrow I will see it in a different light again :dunno:

Thanks for the post, Uly. What a sad state of affairs. :crying:

That reminds me I was watching a documentary recently about this region of the world and an Israel journalist (Mya Guarnieri) made a really interesting point. She said that when Israel was created there was no peace agreement so why do they need one to create a Palestinian state? She said it's time to give back the land and to create a Palestinian state. I agree. :2 cents:

Banned?
Another great documentary. Although it make me have less sympathy for those people. What a pointlessly terrible state their world is in.

Sadly I didn't think Louis was at his best, but it isn't really his fault. Usually he is able to get under the skin of the people he is interviewing, but these guys couldn't care less, they would never break unlike many others in the past.

I think Louis is in my top 10 humans of all time.

The guy said clearly very early on that he didn't care what the International community/world thought knowing that would make most of Louis's questions a waste of time, even that guy putting out the fires said he'd dismiss himself from the interview when Louis asked if they were burning Palestinian trees. Then you had that army commander who insisted he was born and raised in Israel when he sounded like an Aussie to me, they sure beat that brave Dane who questioned the commanders honesty. When that kid blasted Louis for being Atheist he's basically saying a life full of hating others and killing for his God was more of a meaningful life than not believing in anything

pretty good.Especially when the Aussie Jew starting arguing with the
fat Arab at the end of it - that was fucking hilarious :D

That fay guy made me laugh, he was always in the way moaning and bitching (maybe rightly so) and you could tell the Israelis just wanted him gone, did you think that army commander who claimed he was born in Israel was Aussie as well?
