Lowes' or Home Depot

Which mega home-improvement monster do you prefer? For me, Lowe's is infinitely preferable to Home Depot for a number of reasons....cleaner, better organized and more floor help generally available. The prices overall are similar so that's a non-factor in my book. Anyway, curious to know what y'all think.

For me, Home Depot. It's more convenient. Two northern Home Depot stores in neighboring towns are much more closer to me (my home) than the one (Lowe's) in the neighboring town to the south. For Lowe's I have to make a trip and go way out of my way across town and into the next town.

Lowe's- down the road from my home and never had a problem there.

Home Depot- met lots of idiots there and been burned numerous times on stuff I've bought.

theres a pro version in westlake, not far from my home. and in colma, theres a regular old, giant fuckin home depot with a home depot pro across the street from it. never had problems at any of em, their stocks are huge and the employees are knowledgeable for something i may need help with.

By default Home Depot. I have 3 within a 6 mile Radius.

I have gotten some really good wood <wink> & service <wink wink> out of Lowes before - so I guess I have to go with Lowes

That was the deal changer for me.

I'd preferred HD simply because it was there first. Then a Lowes moved in just up the road. I still went to HD but got tired of walking all over looking for some help only to be pointed in a general direction.

I tried Lowes and every employee I walked past asked if I needed help and when I did, they took me straight to what I wanted.

I'll say Lowes, but the closer for many of the last couple decades was Home Depot. Honestly, have to go with Menards over both since I grew up with them. More than all though the local hardware store can't be beat and it's one of only a couple original busniesses still standing from the "strip" in my 'hood and the service can't be beat.
