FLINT, Michigan -- A Flint man abandoned his vehicle briefly on South Ballenger Highway and told police he had no choice because his girlfriend and her 16-year-old son started beating him up while he was driving.

The incident happened at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Flint Police Department report, and occurred after the man's girlfriend became angry because he was taking too long to take her to a store to buy lottery tickets.
