Maps reveal Venice 'forerunner'

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Nice find, Minidog. For people (in the U.S.) who have an interest in this period, I believe either Discovery Channel or History International are still running a show on this ancient city. Along with Rome: Power and Glory and Ancient Discoveries, these are some really great shows!

And for the horn dogs on here (pretty much everybody here, yes? :D), there are several shows on History International that are about ancient sex practices, customs and taboos. The ones on ancient Greece, Rome and the Etruscans are pretty interesting.

Friday on my mind

Pain heals, chicks dig scars, Freeones lasts forever
I saw a documentary the other day on the roman city of Herculaneum.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herculaneum

It was destroyed in 79 AD by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius like Pompeii.
But was preserved and frozen in time almost by the eruption. They can and are studying it to learn more about live in the ancient city.

What was really scary though was how their are now millions of people in the Naples area that could be just as unprepared for another big eruption as they were in 79 AD.

D-rock

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
It seems like they will be digging up things from that era over there forever.
