Maradona's reponse to Terry Butcher's comment (funny)

You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave FreeOnes.
Hey, Maradona is the best at what he does. :D Butcher will eat Maradona's dust. lol

What a showman!!!

Lets face it the guy really knows how to work a crowd.

The Scots are going to love him.

He is right though about the goal :dunno:

I suppose that washed-up, fat, cheating drug addict has a point about the still controversial goal that helped England beat the West Germans in '66, but I've never cared for Maradona and I never will. I think his stint as manager of the Argentine national team is going to be a complete flop, which suits me just fine since I'm not a big fan of theirs, either. (Go Brasil!!)

I smell PUSSY!
What the ball was well over :D , personally i don't care about his opinions TBH just like i don't care about Butchers opinion.

Found the commetns quite funny. I feel that Butcher should be professional and just shake his hand.

Think Maradona will be a complate failure as manager but it will be fun for them while it lasts.

I'm secretly in love with Ron Jeremy!
The thing is why many still pick on him? Cheating has and is still part of the game. We see it all the time even in the Premier League, i.e. diving, handballs etc. Ok maybe Maradona's was a bit too extrodinary but really Butcher needs to get over it. Maybe it was because of Maradona's 2nd wonder goal (where Butcher and co. should have done better) thats really bothering him.

Because cheating is cheating and players who cheat deserve no respect, no matter which era they play during. The way I see it, if a player cannot succeed without cheating, then that player must not really be very good. Either that, or that player has no morals or ethics. You can admire Maradona and other players like him if you choose to. I'll pass, thanks.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Wow, now I know how you non-American's feel when there's a thread about the NFL or something mainly "American", because I have NO IDEA what any of this is about!

Maradona played for the Argentine national men's soccer team from about 1979 until about 1994. He is practically a god in Argentina. He scored a goal against the English national team in the 1986 World Cup that was a blatant handball. If you know nothing about soccer, touching the ball with the hands, or any part of either arm, for that matter, is not allowed, except for goalkeepers. Maradona was NOT a goalkeeper. Anyway, that illegal goal that he scored helped the Argentines eliminate the English on the way to a World Cup victory that year. Maradona is now the manager of the Argentine national team. One of the current Scottish national team assistant coaches was a member of that English squad (players have to be from the country represented, coaches do not). He's saying he wasn't going to shake Maradona's hand before or after today's match. Not being a fan of Maradona's, had I been in Terry Butcher's shoes, I probably wouldn't have shaken the hand of that washed-up, fat, drug-addicted cheater, either. I don't have much sympathy for drug addicts or for cheaters. Maradona is no exception in my eyes, no matter what many other people think of him.

Maradona was an exceptionally gifted player who tool drugs.
Many other players have recieved bans for drug related offences yet they recieve a lot less abouse than Maradona.

The handball incident was wrong and the officials shoudl have seen it but they didn't, many players since then have tried to score with there hands with varying results.
Diving is just as much cheating as the handball and players do it every week and that is more of a threat to football as it is. So that needs to be weeded out the game fast.

The other goal against England was a wonder goal and is not remembered fondly enough.

Butcher should have shaken his hand.

Didn't he shake his hand?? thats just wrong in my opinion, there professionals and should know better.

You're right about the other goal it was pure masterclass, probably the best goal in a world cup match.

You forgot to put the part where after he scored that goal, he went on to score the greatest goal of all time by running around virtually the entire english team as if they were 3 year olds.
