regina :) let me know how it turns out!

xfire - yeah i dont like ribs mushy either. especially baby backs. put them in a roasting pan and season with a dry rub or just salt n pepper. I use a dry rub on mine of cumin, coffee, salt, pepper, cayenne. then cover with aluminum foil and cook at 275 for 4 hours take out and put sauce on them if you want, like I did with the thai chili sauce or use whatever sauce you want or none at all, and then put them under the broiler until the sauce starts to caramelize I promise, they'll be perfect!

I guess the sensitive fucks complained and got my Candy Carson meme and post removed. What a bitch move. Just because you can't face the fact that your candidate is a fucking lying loony doesn't mean you have to be a pussy about it. Oh well. The anonymous internet coward strikes again :/

What? Where? On Facebook or Twitter? It got a little quiter lately, regarding these things, but I take it becasue everybody now has his own internal censor reminding him/her that haters gonny report any little shit to the service.

Damn.

Alright, lets lay off the politics here. Back on to the food. We had a good thing going and it was making me hungry.

I'll start with this. Anyone ever do a slow cooker turkey for the holiday? For some reason it sounds good, maybe because people were talking about it.

I've never seen a Crock-Pot big enough to hold a whole turkey, you would need to find a way to keep it off the bottom of the cooker so it doesn't braise itself and get mushy.

I don't know, I've heard good things about it. We have a bone in breast and I'm tempted to try it. I'm thinking a good brine will work wonders. I never do turkey without a brine. The only thing that would such is the skin getting mushy. Of course, some time under the broiler will help with that. Slowcooker + broiler! We're being awesome here!

I just picked up my order from Locale Market in St Pete for thanksgiving tomorrow and I'm beyond excited! It's a 7 bone prime rib roast dry-aged 90 days which I cannot WAIT for! I have never had a cut of meat of that quality before...at least to cook myself! Its almost black! I put a sea salt and cracked black pepper rub on it this morning and it'll be in the fridge til tomorrow morning around 5 when I put it in the oven for 10 hours at very low heat. Making it with lobster and stone crab and Cedar Key clams and oysters. I'm also roasting red potatoes in the slow cooker in duck fat for 4 hours which I'll then mash. green beans with almonds and sea salt and for dessert....no pumpkin pie!!! Itm gonna do blueberries sauteed with a little bourbon and flambe'd til its reduced down to a delicious blue liquid...then poured over sweetened homemade sponge cake and then drizzled with warm sweetened condensed milk and served with a scoop of gelato.

I will take photos. :) maybe video. We'll see

Happy thanksgiving!
