apparently the last game directed by kojima, and the last one to feature solid snake... with cutscenes that almost reach 90 minutes (or so say some early reviews)... only 7 and a half hours until stores open...

Got it today. Easily the best looking game on PS3 - it's so epic. Definitely worth getting.

actually the box says 1080p... but obvioulsy only if you have a 1080p TV... install size is a whopping 4.6GB hahahahaha that's gonna take the PS3's 2x bluray drive like what, half an hour to install? i will start installing it in a minute, after i'm done browsing my usual websites... i hope the multiplayer is good.

I watched the videos from the playstation network they had about 6 of them, the single player game play looks amazing but the online play looked like crap, too cartoony looking. as far as im concerned no shooting game will ever be better than Socom 2 for online play

I unfortunately don't have a PS3 so I just watched a couple gameplay videos and cutscenes online. It looks fucking amazing, it almost makes me wish I had a PS3

get one. it's still the cheapest blu-ray player out here, runs ubuntu linux just fine, and can even be used to stream movies from your PC to a television. in that context its gaming capabilities are just a nice bonus

Is it worth getting this game even if the last one i played was Metal Gear Solid 1? Do i need to re-educate myself in the game?

you can buy the game, but you will be lost as to the story line. It would help to have played and beat the other previous ones, buts its not necessary. A lot of people that only played 1 or 2 of the series bought this game.

Yes, my friend you are a geek. But then again so am I:glugglug:, got the ones for Game Boy and all the special editions for Gamecube and PS2. Cant afford a PS3 but if I did I would surely have MGS 4.

What I would like to know about the online part is do you have to pay to play ? I'm confused because I registered for a konami id and in the user agreement there is something mentioned about payment . I hope someone can help me with this .

That makes 3 of us. Metal Gear is my obsession. You can't find a better story in real life. I mean 10 years ago when I first played MGS it was by chance. I read the title and story and thought "why not". I beat the first game in 12 hours straight. No breaks, no nothing. After that, it became my all time favorite series and I have yet to play anything better. I have every single MGS game made, along with documentaries, wallpapers, etc. Only problem is I don't have a PS3 yet but no worries. I've seen the videos from MGS4 and I'm waiting patiently to play it.

Its free i would assume, like all other games for the ps3 you just have to have a high speed connection to the network. No sign up cost or anything but if you choose to buy games from the store it will cost money, but i dont think it cost anything to play MGS4

You're probably right . I wouldn't pay to play since it doesn't seem very good anyway .
