Michael Savage invited to debate at Cambridge Union Society

~~whimsy~~

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
After his ban in England and put on a list with Islamic terrorists and leaders of hate groups is now invited to Britain's Cambridge Union Society.

"The invitation letter, signed by society presidents Julien Domercq and Jonathan Laurence, says the Cambridge Union has been following Savage's case 'with great interest' and believes he is 'more qualified than anyone to talk about the subject of political correctness in American and Britain.'"

I don't always agree with what Savage has to say, despite I do enjoy listening to him when I find the time, but the thing is we do have freedom of speech and what he has to say is nowhere near as extreme or abhorrent as what Islamic terrorists and hate groups have to say about regarding what they are against.

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
Just so you know the 'union' is a club that students join for a quite hefty fee. It is not part of the university, neither is it to be confused with the student union. As an organization it's golden age has long since passed. It was passe at best when I was there many years ago. They have these generally dreary debates which can often get bogged down in arcane points of order. They do on occasion get some interesting guests and if they are lucky the match ups can look great on paper.

A couple of years ago I saw a recording of Richard Dreyfuss (sp?) the actor, in a debate at the Oxford Union. He was quite impressive
