More than 1,700 Taliban give up their arms

On a side note, I'd hang on to my AK.
Probably the most reliable assault rifle of all time.

Reading this makes me horny
Could we be winning? Well in order to answer that question, you first have to define what "Winning" is. Only then can you measure what it means to "Win" in Afganistan.

Great news! Once the Taliban are defeated, we can put another regime in place that we can end up fighting against in twenty years!

Maybe the explosives & such, but the guns, probably not. In desert conditions, AK-47's are more reliable than M-16's, and they're cheaper and more plentiful.

I call *cough* Bravo Sierra *cough* on that last...

M-16?
You man an A1? Like was issued in the early 1960s? or a Modern day Rifle (M4) that would now be in the hands of Service Men?

The problems that plagued the early M1A1's was the revision of the spec that removed the requirement for chrome lined barrels and including Cleaning Kits the moden AR in all it's incarnations is far more reliable than that Russian piece of shit. Even if for just the very important reason that it can fire a 5.56 round twice as far accuratly than that Kalashnikov can spit a 7.62x39. If our guys wanna be able to use the cheap Russian ammo fine all they have to do is change out thier upper and voila they can drill a haji between the eyes from farther away than the fucker can see it comming from.

Most of our Advanced Marksmen and Snipers are carrying M14's, yes it is still in service and it's still kicking ass in American hands. That is something that the Wiki page had wrong the last time I looked M14 has never gone out of service.
The only time you will see one of our Service Men with a Kalashnikov in his hand is when he is taking it off a dead Taliban, probably to collect the round that is in the chamber :)

Some special forces and seal units have been known to use the AK-47's, in conjunction with not wearing US uniforms, not shaving and wearing those towels on their heads, so they could blend in with the natives. How effective this tactic, I don't know.

*ahem*
Well that is kind of true, the AK's that are carried are 100% American or British made from milled (not stamped) stock and have barrels that are made to US Mil Spec.. They are far more accurate at far greater range than the Russian, Czech, Polish, and Ukraine made garbage that the taliban carry.

The crap that the taliban carry is effective to about 200 yards and that falls seriously short of what is required.

SEAL units are Special Forces BTW.

Contrary to what many people think the "American Shooting Style" is not 'Spray and Pray' it's 'Shoot Long and Tight'.

Really, Obama is a wartime strategist too? How does he do it all and do so with such precise perfection?
Wow, he is really something! I hope that Obama is president for life! Really,
he's just the greatest man the earth has ever known. There is nothing he can't do !

Your comedy is just way ahead of its time. Give it another twenty years. People will respect it better.
