CHICAGO – As a bartender and trainer at a national restaurant chain, Rebecca Brown earned a couple thousand dollars in a really good week. Now, as a dancer at Chicago's Pink Monkey gentleman's club, she makes almost that much in one good night.

The tough job market is prompting a growing number of women across the country to dance in strip clubs, appear in adult movies or pose for magazines like Hustler.

Employers across the adult entertainment industry say they're seeing an influx of applications from women who, like Brown, are attracted by the promise of flexible schedules and fast cash. Many have college degrees and held white-collar jobs until the economy soured.

"You're seeing a lot more beautiful women who are eligible to do so many other things," said Gus Poulos, general manager of New York City's Sin City gentleman's club. He said he got 85 responses in just one day to a recent job posting on Craigslist.

At least women have the option to do this when the economy's soured. They just strip or pose nude there's no need to sleep with anybody and they get paid good money. Can't say I am envious as a man but there's definitely perks of being female (attractive female that is).

Some of the women have to go through a whole paradigm shift to do that. But when you have kids to feed.... If they apply the same principles of positive thinking they had in the office, and if they can be protected, they should be OK.

There are probably some ladies out there who enjoy watching a babe as much as the next guy.

It must be really hard for some women who see this as having to expose their bodies for bread.
Competition is fierce there too.

I hope they are appreciated and honoured, not regarded as mere objects.
I tell you what if I was a babe I would seriously do this. Imagine having days off here and there - heck, even one day off, where you can go relax on the beach or something.

Even for something like that, that's a phenomenal rate of pay. It's not something I would think typical, even in that industry. I bet the competition for a job like that is pretty intense and a lot more people are turned down or just know they don't have the looks for it in the first place. Of course the downside would be having to hang around guys that feel entitled to make life miserable for you however they want at the job because of the cash their dishing out.

I say good for these women. its definitely better than being an escort or high price call girl. but its a flexible well paying job. and if the girl has self control she can and only will have sex with whom she wishes.

I have always likened girls stripping to the guys that sell drugs. guns. or resort to some kind of criminal activity / conspiracy that pays off real well and very quickly.

Just like always the girls version getting paid on the quick is safer and legal. What can a guy do in a pinch when theirs NO jobs and bills have to be paid and LIFE carries on regardless of whether "we" have a job or not? go flip burgers?

I mean what comparison is their for a "GUY" to get the chance @ making fast, easy, legal money? NOTHING I can think of.

IMO that's why so many guys turn to selling drugs. guns. dealing with stolen jewels. and cars. and whatever is worth allot that people will break the law to sell and deal with. its not always what a person wants to do. its what a person is has to do. :yesyes::dunno::hatsoff:
