Movie Scene...

This has been bugging me for a little while now, a scene from a movie is stuck in my head and I cant place its origin.

Far as I can recall its the female lead and she is discussing with a male co-star, the story of her childhood and growing up with an abusive father(or mothers boyfriend). She grew up with her brother and one night the abusive male goes off and the brother tries to protect her, he in turn has his head put through a wall and is killed. After this she ran away and finds herself in her current predicament

Obviously this has some emotinal relevance in the film and explains more of her characters motivations of being who she is. Problem is I cant remember what film it is!

Im hoping this strikes a chord with someone and they can tell me where this is from.

Dumb luck has provided the answer, its a scene from the extended cut of the replacement killers, mira sorvino is relating a story about her past. I was close enough on the details, but the frustration is over!
