moving avatars

some of you guys have animated avatars.
how is that done?
i've loaded animated gifs but they dont move.

The animation wont work if the file size is above 19.5 kb, right?

I sometimes try uploading animated avatars but they dont 'move' or work,
yet I have uploaded avatars which size are much larger than allowed and they upload just fine.

yeah just google image resizing and it will give you a site to change the pixel size of your avatar.
