What is you guys favorite Mexican food or Latin American food?.My is tacos and I'm not talking about that Taco Bell stuff either.I like the ones made from corn sat outside and dried in the sunlight.

An excellent Mexican dish is carne asada a la tampiqueña. The best tacos in Chicago are La Pasadita's on Ashland & Division. Ask for tacos de carne asada with chopped cilantro and onions, gulp it down with some delicious horchata.

Good Colombian finger food are the empanadas and an excellent Colombian dish is the bandeja paisa from Medellin.

Burrito de la Roqueta from a local joint. It is pork roasted in beer, then fried just enough to be crispy. They make a burrito with this and cover it with queso and pico. Fucking drool worthy.

I'm a vegetarian so, I'm partial to Vegetable Fajitas.

Fajitas and enchiladas. I typically cook light, so I cut out a lot of the fat if I can. I have a killer recipe for a sour cream chicken enchiliada that will have friends and family lined up at the door if they know I'm making it.

I also tend to make salsa and refried beans myself since obviosly the mexican influence is quite weak over here.

Nope, sorry. I'm a mongrel. German and Norse decent mostly with some I don't know what on the other side. I love mexican food though and my high school sweetie belonged to a HUGE mexican family that made food from scratch to die for.
