NEWSFLASH

Mats Sundin signs for the Vancouver Canucks. 20M$ for 2 years.

 Booyah. Should give us some much needed scoring power.

Philadelphia 2 - Montréal 5

Antero Niittymaki, Philly's keeper, never beat Habs in his career - we definatly have his number. Pretty much sums up the game.

Solid performance by the Habs against a team that always gives us a rough time. Nice to see Komisarek back from his injury as solid as ever on the blue line.

Great performance tonight by Steve Bégin (1 goal, 1 assist). So glad we haven't let him go earlier this season when he have been an healthy scratch for several games in a row. Guillaume Latendresse (1 goal, 1 assist) got a good game again after being an healthy scratch often lately. Same with Serguei Kostitsyn (1 goal, 1 assist).

After 19 games without a goal, Alexei Kovalev have 2 goals in his last 2 games... About time!

those motherfucking refs just cost Tampa a win. they say Smitty threw his stick in the shootout. he fucking dropped it!

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Sundin only signed a 1 year, $5 million contract. The 2 year, 20 million dollar contract was taken off the table a long time ago.

I know my sig is too big, but...
Looks like the Red Wings decided to send a message. 6-0 Wings victory over the Sharks.

I'd like to see these teams play when they are both rested. So far a lopsided win by each team at home when the vistitor was at the very end of a long road trip.

That's pathetic. What has been with the refs in the past few days?

5.5M$ for the remains of the current season (aka 10M$ a year).

But you are right, it's for the remains of the season, not a 2 years deal... I guess in it's excitement, the guy doing the NEWSFLASH on the readio yesterday didnt had the accurate infos when i posted.

Blackhawks play the Canucks tonight in Vancouver, should be a great game featuring two of my favourite teams.

Random fact, but some of you might be surprised that the Blackhawks are the current leaders in attendance, averaging 21,475 every game, 200 more then Montreal. Unsurprisingly, in last place is the Islanders 13,195.

:hatsoff: Chicago fans - Montreal have been leading since forever on that matter. I'm really glad to see hockey back and so strong in Chicago.

Is Sundin in uniform tonight? :dunno:

I think thyey said Sundin won't start until after Christmas or New Year's, so he won't be playing. Shame, because the Canucks are going to need to play their very best to beat this Chicago team. It is really good to see Chicago's hockey scene recovering so quickly, hopefully the city can stay a hotbed for a long time to come.

Buffalo 3 - Montréal 4 (OT)

Ryan Miller almost stole the game for Buffalo. An incredible performance. 42 saves out of 46 shots.

Andrew Peters been knocked down two times in the same fight againt Georges Laraque in the 1st. A lot of courage.

Referees called 2 penalities against Buffalo in OT. Deserved but... regardless... it's again the referees who favored a side against the other. Not as bas as what we have suffer against Carolina earlier this week but ... this really sucks.

Sergei Kostitsyn with 2 goals, Alex Tanguay (1g 1a) and Alexei Kovalev (1g 1a) were the offensive stars of the game. Clarke MacArthur (1g, 1a) and the ageless Teppo Numminen (2a) have shined for Buffalo.

Overall, a great hockey game.

Shouldn't expect anything less from Miller. One hell of a goalie.

Vancouver is leading Chicago at the 1st, 1-0, which is good.

Watched the 2nd of Hab game and OT. Miller was outstanding. Is Kovalev up for a new contract this year?
Toronto smoked Pittsburgh.

3-1 Chicago over Vancouver. :dunno:

Can't say it bugs me all that much. One of my favourite teams beat another of my favourites. The Canucks will have plenty of wins when Luongo comes back and Sundin starts, but I need Chicago to win so they can take Detroit down a peg.

Maybe some physical toughness. Hawks are young and could run'n'gun with a team like Detroit.

Of course there is the Buttman factor. When Anaheim won the cup, the Ducks just owned the Wings in all aspects and even crushed every other Euro soft team in their way. The following years, Anaheim and Calgary were done like toast with the new changes to the rules. He got his Euro Wings vs Sidney Penguins. Didn't even watch a game.

The Capitals need to bring home a cup. I'm not the one to keep up with much hockey history. Is there any team who has gone with out a Cup?

I 2nd that. The central is much more enjoyable to watch with the Hawks playing well. Chicago is very entertaining.
