Cheerleaders are an unneeded remnant of a bygone era. I respect cheerleaders who are doing their thing, but the professional cheerleaders are just doing lame dance routines. They are a dumb distraction.

I looked at the article and it seems that Green Bay has used the UW-Green Bay cheerleading squad for the last 21 years. I think that's really cool. I wonder why they chose not to bring them this year?

The organization also hurt a lot of feelings by choosing not to bring it's injured reserve to the Super Bowl. I wonder how the team is doing financially?

Hey it's Dallas... meaning that you may be seeing the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders around the stadium. You just never know.

One of my friends, who by chance is a sucessful porn star today, has told me that the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders were one of her inspirations growing up. And my lady friend has also been a big proponent of the "Go Daddy" banned Super Bowl commercials as well.

So I guess it is nice to see sexy ladies around.

From the 1961 season through the end of the 1969 season, which was coincidentally Chuck Noll's 1st, the Steelers actually did have cheerleaders called the Steelerettes! They used local co-eds from Robert Morris College (now University), which at the time didn't have their own football program, and essentially adopted the Steelers! By 1970, Robert Morris had it's own football program, and in a joint decision, the Steelerettes were disbanded, and the Steelers have been cheerleaderless ever since!

Incidentally, much like many of the older teams, the Steelers also have their own "college style" fight song.....with lyrics and everything.....that they essentially no longer use as well!
