All true unfortunately. There is, IMNSHO, a political - legal culture that has embedded itself in our society known as A Litigious culture e.g. People
feel inclined to file ridiculous, ever long reaching lawsuits against one another when we should hold ourselves individually responsible for our own ignorance !

Thanks in part to a recent over abundance of legal grads over the last approx 20 years and it's no wonder why we're facing the tyranny of dictatorial government. (O'bama the attorney! & the hypersensitive Democrats:thefinger)

Honorable mention -Ally Mcbeal with her fashionable attorney culture ! Bitch !!
:D

Yes, there is a lot of that "rules are rules, buddy" mentality going around. Here in Sweden, many schools no longer fly the flag or have their students singing the national anthem at graduation day, because it might be percieved as "racist" by the immigrant community. Obviously that is ridiculous, I have a number of "immigrant" friends, and they all fly their flags, and sing their national anthems, and most of them consider these swedish rules to be idiotic.

But, someone decided that patriotism is nationalism (which it is), and nationalism is UGLY and BAD, which it is not.

I'm gonna stop ranting now!

I can't remember what I said 100 posts ago!
I still think: (a) the kiss was contagious or (b) it had a missile attached (take note North Korea - we are on to you).

By all means, rant on ! We need more outspoken sobriety on this matter.

All astute points BTW :hatsoff:

I'm of Swedish extraction myself originally from Marstrand / Kungalv, to be precise and I have recently thought about getting away from all of the political correctness here in the states and maybe, well, trekking up to the origins of my foreparents

No ? :o

Wow, if this doesn't ring true :

Marcus Tillius Circero
Born 3, January 106 B.C. - Passed 7, Dec. 43 B.C.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."

Anyway, what I was saying was, Yes and no. In some ways, America really is the land of the free. In other ways, it seems really regulated. You can get fined for peeing in the forest? Crazy! When I went to California a couple of years ago, one of the things I noticed was all the signs; Camping forbidden. No open fires. Caution: there may be animals in the wilderness, Going barefoot forbidden, (how the FUCK can that be forbidden?) And so on.

You'd think with how broke many schools distracts are in the U.S. they'd try to avoid being sued over something so stupid.
