i'd say they were justified in fighting for their land. especially considering that the man on our 20 dollar bill, andrew jackson, supported a policy of ethnic cleansing toward certain tribes and the fact that the bureau of indian affairs was created as a division of the war department. so it's not like america was sending out the friendly vibes.

I'd rather not walk around in Celtic Park wearing the dutch national colors (orange)... But now that I think of it, I'd never walk around in the Dutch national colors anyway. :tongue: (who in his right mind would want to wear orange? :dunno: )

Anyway, I'm still proud of the fact that a Dutchman ruled England. No Englishman has ever ruled the Netherlands.

It wasn't British rule at all. It was a voluntary union of two countries, Scotland kept its legal and educational system (still superior by the way) , OK the centre of power was London but Scotland was fully represented and I might say did exceptionally well from the arrangement.Remember that Scotland was bankrupt and couldn't function any longer on its own which is why they (not the English) asked for full economic and political union.
