Notre Dame University Obama Protests

Hot Mega

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Interesting the selective outrage over Obama. There are protests over his plans to abide by the tradition of U.S. Presidents visiting their campus "no man has the right to decide who sits at the table of life".

Hmmm, so how is that squared with previous presidents who as governors presided over death penalty enforcement??

I think that's called selective outrage.:thefinger

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far
I don't believe there's a moral equivalence between the death penalty and abortion. When it comes to the death penalty, a criminal's life is forfeited because of the choices made in life that got him there and after following due process of law, including being declared guilty by a jury and any appeals.

In abortion we're talking about a completly innocent life, about someone who has not made any wrong choices as he/she has not even had the chance to do so, as opposed to a full grown man who had the opportunity and still made the wrong choices.

Now, I would like to see a day when the death penalty is no longer used, and that will only happen when people stop murdering each other.

I don't disagree with you. My point is their position as stated is inconsistent with past situations. Their statement says in effect man has no right to determine who lives or who dies. The world couldn't function if such was the case IMO.

If it's the case they believe that, how can they consistently host others who have made laws and presided over the enforcement of the death penalty if but for selective outrage?:dunno:
