Me on the other hand have no emotional response to this news. I liked a few of their songs but I wasn't a "fan".

But they have done this before, so my cynicism is tingling.

Especially one time when a fan took it upon themselves to throw a shoe onstage. The big motor mouthed Gallagher brothers walked off stage to sulk. You wont get that happening to professionals like Bruce Dickinson and Iron Maiden. They have had everything from eggs to bricks and even dynamite thrown on stage. And the band still played on.

I never really liked that band, and you named the main reason for this dislike.

They are a bit like guitar-playing british hooligans, copying heavily the spirit of the Beatles.

And their ridiculous rants about other bands that should catch HIV and stuff.

They can easily afford to retire, so leave the stage to people who are professional.

They are one of the biggest bands in the WORLD and it would be a shame if we lost them.
Im sure "The Chief" and "R Kid" will patch it up once again and continue to give us all those rock n roll anthemns that we all know and love! :glugglug:

Well, even if I appreciate the first two Oasis albums, I really disliked the Gallagher brothers as persons. And the last few albums weren't really that good, so I don't really care if they split or not. But like I said, the first two albums were really good.
