Everyone has an opinion but the majority opinion of the US voter said different last Nov.:o (ouch!)

They did indeed. They are changing now. If he follows the path he has taken this past 6 months pushing for wild spending, pushing laws too quickly for debate, he will be a one-termer. The last fish I caught could not even flip / flop like OB is doing as of late.

If GWB divided this country, BO has driven the wedge further in.

Also, you need to learn how your country's civics work. Obama can't push laws too quick for debate as all laws are debated and passed by congress then they reach his desk AFTER they have passed the House and the Senate.

We all know the only issue GOPers have is to fashion ways to be the party of dissent....that is an obvious advantage for GOPers...not because they have a point..but because Demos don't call them to the carpet for their hypocrisy in opposing legislation. (i.e. GOPers have a problem spending 3 billion for the clunkers program but no problem spending $600 billion in Iraq).

Once this officer established the facts....his fucking job was done. He should have removed himself and his partner from the situation instead exacerbating it. He should have left Gates to take his frustrations out on his wall or his china cabinet.

Cops do it all the time.

For him to make an arrest in that situation says one thing...it's was about him, not the professionalism of LEOs. What kind of idiot does a cop have to be to get into a back and forth with someone after the facts are established?? Gates probably made him look foolish and his ego couldn't take it.

Cops with egos too big for the professionalism of their job always find their way into negative news stories....

And cops apprehend people all the time when they become irate and dis-orderly all the time. The officer made a judgment call and had the authority to do so. Gates' ego saw publicity was the beginning and ran with it. How many people did he run and cry to within a week? How many interviews did he do saying how mis-treated he was because he is black. Taht guy needs to grow the fuck up! Gates is a race pimp and immediately called racism on the officers part. The officer wanted tot ell his side of the story because the media was running with what Gates was saying without checking into what was really the truth. I bet you'd stand up for yourself just as well if someone went running around telling bold face lies about you. The public found out who that Gates was the real racist in the end.

You are clueless. If you are in public and you are engaging in disorderly conduct, you may be arrested if you fail to disperse and go home. Gates was at home. If you are at home and you are disturbing the peace, you may be arrested IF you don't cease after first being cited. This was not the case.

In reading the police report it is a pretty clear case of entrapment which is most likely why it was shit-canned. The cop knowing as long as Gates didn't threaten him there was nothing he could do to Gates no matter what he said while he was in his home, goaded Gates outside (likely by refusing to identify himself until he was outside) where he could then arrest Gates. Again, the thing was tossed prima facie...in laymen's terms that means the prosecutor took one look at it and called bullshit.

If Crowley possessed the ability to feel shame he should be embarrassed. Despite what cops say publicly, it's likely the case many of them recognize he created a circumstances for an arrest and should be embarrassed for not being able to handle a simple case like this.
