I would respectfully disagree with you, as the new administration and Congress don't seem to have a clue IMHO about the US Constitutional restraints on Federal power, and they, like GWB, don't understand basic math (spending cannot > income).

Technically, the "fascists" of the 20th century believed in a socialist style of government (see Nazi Party and how they used German industry).

Actually, that is not quite right. Most fascist or fascist-like states of the 20th century (Italy, Spain, Germany, Japan,...) didn't believe in a socialist style of government. They believed, that with an authoritarian government belonged a socialist-like style economy. And they didn't call it socializing or collectivizing, they called it nationalizing. It may seem almost the same from what you may read in your history text book, but there is a difference.

It happened to be, that in some regimes (like for example what was called the "real/actual existing socialism" of the GDR (DDR)) the political and economic systems strongly resembled those of some fascist states. But that was because most of the so-called socialist states were in fact masked authoritarian states with a profound misunderstaning of the concept of socialism.
