Maybe the same type of people who become teachers in spite of it being "universalized" the kind of people who are born to do something and do it because they love the work.
That may not make sense to some people who only see money or financial gain as the primary motivation for doing something but there are allot of professions where in many cases the practitioner is born to do it.
The people who do certain things only for money end up not being very good at them.
Truth is doctors in countrys with universal systems (Canada for example) still do very nicely as far as income goes.And the other fact is that people here who don't like that they make less under a universal system will be stuck with it,there is no other country like the US they can flee to where health care is done the way we do it.Again are there a shortage of doctors in the rest of the world? Not that I have heard of.
This is not like we have nothing to look at here in the US and models of systems that function better and are more efficent than ours,there are plenty.We get to pick and choose which of them seem to do it best ,all we need is the will, which means stop listening to the for profits health care lobby's propaganda.
