Obama Sinking Like the Titanic

thegame2119

You looking at me?
I don't know much about politics and economics so take this opinion for what it's worth as it was formed with what little I do know.

I think It's sad that people are blaming Obama for the current state of America when most of those people should have known it would get worse before it gets better and there's nothing Obama could have done about that. McCain wouldn't have faired any better.

It's going to take a lot to fix this country. Such as; we need to stop importing more than we're exporting, bring jobs back to America and we need to quit giving money we don't have to foreign aid programs. If we can start to do things like that we might be able to get the American economy back on it's feet.

I don't think the majority of voters are going to make the stupid mistake of voting for the GOP since voters know full well that the GOP is responsible for the economic quagmire we're currently experiencing.

^^Sorry H/R..this is why Demos keep getting pounded. Notwithstanding the last elections which beyond Obama were more about GOPers having lost than Demos winning.

The majority of non political hack voters only know what GOPers say and Demos don't say.

Demos continue to allow GOPers to define the terms of the debate on issues and the average goofy voter doesn't know the difference.

That's how GOPers can argue for weeks that $30B added to the debt is mortgaging our children's future when it's in the form of U/E extensions in the worst economy since the depression. Then in the next breath, support maintaining 10 times that amount being added to the debt (and deficit) while blaming Demos for trying to "raise" taxes in a recession. Never mind the fact that we're no longer in a recession.

Who do you believe will win this issue? The loud and often GOPer echo chamber...or the disjointed, can't agree on a strategy Demos?

Demos will get probably get blasted out of power..then spend another 10 or 12 years watching GOPers, scapegoat, investigate, hoodwink the country up on the rocks again while they wonder why the average person doesn't get it.

The average voter doesn't go by facts...they go by the conjecture, speculation and hyperbole they hear. GOPers know this that's why they flood the arena with conjecture, speculation and hyperbole. And absent a coherent, reasoned smackdown of their nonsense by simply calling them out on consistency and hypocrisy know-nothing voters buy it.

Why don't Demos challenge them on those simple terms every once in a while?? I mean, that's how they keep kicking Demos' asses...

If the average voter is going to continue taking this route you say they take, then the GOP is what they're going to end up with and recent history teaches that the GOP does more harm than good. The average voter needs to turn off Fox News and do their own research instead to be aware and informed so they can't be bamboozled by McCain, Palin, Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, O'reilly, etc.

Well that would be the point...you're making a case for a circumstance which doesn't exist.

Demos try to play the game idealistically (expecting people to not listen to malarkey and spin, do research, know the issues and remember what these clowns say 6 months apart). GOPers play the game for what it is...they know the average "middle of the roader" won't follow an issue closely, won't pay attention to what they say 6 mos. apart, won't research and will buy a carefully crafted, wordsmithed talking point.

Conversely, where ever there's a circumstance where Demos come off inconsistent....GOPers on Fox, the radio and in political offices are right there to point it out when it serves their interests.

The only people who ever do this to GOPers are comedians on HBO and Comedy Central.

Demos can continue to think they're taking the high road if they want...more times than not it will be leading them right out of power.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making a case that they need to act like GOPers but they need to understand and accept the way the game is played. Thinking they're above confronting their opponents on the issues and calling them out for being hypocritically inconsistent is just plain stupid though.

It isn't going to be so much a victory for the republicans as it is just going to be wanting to get rid of the democrats as a majority. Since there are two options in the end it is going to be back to republicans.

Bye Obama, Biden, and Pelosi. :wave2:

~~whim...that ship has already sailed. It's already a "victory" for GOPers that in just a few short years after running the country up on the rocks...they are even considered an option at this point.

That ship has already sailed when Americans watched GWB perform the largest reverse gangbang in the history of the US...by deceiving, spending, destructing, "deathing" and incompetencing his way along for 8 years..barley holding him accountable...Whilst they have barely given a year and a half to a guy who by all accounts has done or tried to do everything he said he would do on his campaign, been square jawed, sober and fairly honest about it as he's tried to navigate the country through the draw down of a failed war policy..a failing war policy and the peak of an economic melt down.

No reasonable person expects the anti-Obamites, birthers and otherwise incorrigible opponents of Obama to reconcile this...It's when the people who claimed to have voted for the guy can't step back and see this on their own and Demos can't make a coherent rendering of the circumstances that they've already lost.

So much so that GOPers are poised to (or seemingly poised) wrest power back with what? The same kind of mumbo-jumbo they have been regurgitating for years.

A lot of people hated obama and they still hate him, I understand why. Name me what positive Obama has done since the first day he was president? Was his nobel prize justified? No to both questions. Yet, you still insist and continue to brush a wonderful portrait of daddy o. I hope the dems lose everything and that pelosi gets what she deserves.

Crazy4theBrat

Oh no, the old titles are back!
Same thing as now the GOP has its head up its ass as far as the demoncrats do. This might be his best hope for reelection in 2012, the GOP will most likely not make anything better and he can use that as a platform for his election.

So what you think he should say is "Yes, I have done a lousy job as your president, but believe me, the other side would be even worse."

No shit.:1orglaugh I'm replying to one right now.

Authored nearly $300 billion in tax credits and cuts with his Stimulus package. Gave us a better chance a salvaging the war in Afghanistan. Tied US aid to Pakistan to their cooperation in their border regions against AQ and the Taliban. Kept unemployment from exceeding the rates seen under Reagan. :2 cents:
Was his nobel prize justified? No to both questions.
I don't know...I don't have a vote but his resume on it is comparable to many on the list of laureates who've won it in the past.:dunno:
Yet, you still insist and continue to brush a wonderful portrait of daddy o.
Just saying what I believe no different from what you do George...I just back mine up more credibly.

:eek::horse:What else is new.:1orglaugh

I'd love to hear what it is you believe Pelosi "deserves"...I'm thinking you're probably torn somewhere between lashes with a cat o nine tails and stoning.

Don't worry georges the people are about to storm the Bastille. The Dems and Obama see the coming storm.

Be careful what you wish for, it might come true!
Hot Mega: posts 22 and 24 provide a very good analysis of the different tactics used by the two parties and why it's so hard for Democrats to maintain the upper hand politically.
This comment below is spot on, and truer now in the internet age than ever before.

Again, 20% of Americans think the President isn't a U.S. citizen. They have NOTHING factual to base that belief on, they simply DESPERATELY WANT it to be true, and the right takes full advantage of their emotionally generated stupidity by repetitively floating all kinds of idiotic conspiratorial theories to keep the fire stoked.

Why don't Demos challenge them on those simple terms every once in a while?? I mean, that's how they keep kicking Demos' asses...

Liberals tend to be more "grey area" thinkers, so they're easily thrown on the defensive if even a tiny part of some generally outrageous charge made against them is fact.

Conservatives are black and white thinkers so they never get hung up on nuance, no matter how significant those nuances may in fact be.

I'm still kind of appalled when I think back to what a gentlemanly campaign Kerry staged considering the MOUNTAIN of ammo he had to use against Bush. Meanwhile Bushco (which included a number of noted draft evaders) was busy defaming ("swiftboating") the fuck out of an active duty Naval officer who won the Silver Star.

But in a nutshell there you have a good example of the difference between the two parties. And the GOP does that kind of shit completely unabashedly. Even when they DO get their chops busted about the crap they dispense they unashamedly brush it right off and move relentlessly ahead dispensing more garbage.

Well, it's good for Obama that there isn't a single member of the Republican Party that can even hope to hold a candle to him in a Presidential debate...

Not that I endorse him, but Gingrich would shred Obamer in a debate. I also think Pawlenty is viable. Don't write them off so quickly.

Riiiight, Newt, who just last week stated that the best way to fully appreciate President Obama's decisions is to "understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior."...... a comment that had even a great many of his conservative brethren performing this gesture ------->

and we sure as heck don't want to get into a family values debate with old Newt, do we?

Fuck his family values platform. He's obviously a womanizer. He's just a well-spoken individual, generally. I'm probably voting Independent again, but maybe Pawlenty will run.

Obama is a horrible speaker when not scripted or in fron of a tela prompter.
I believe he knows he will lose total power and is grasping at straws.

Wow Nester...that is exactly wrong. Obama is HIGHLY articulated when he's unscripted.

He doesn't pack a script on his debates nor any interview. Although he delivers incredible speeches on issues he's passionate about, some of his poorest performances have been when he's delivering some panned, scripted, teleprompted speech.

If Obama were to scribble his talking points on his hand with a ball point pen and winked into the camera like Sarah Palin does, perhaps his bitter enemies here would have more respect and admiration for him
