Obama to do away with the "Don't ask, don't tell" in military

Pussy, pussy, where are you?
i'd have to go with chris rock on this one, 'If they wanna fight, let 'em fight. Cause I ain't fightin'! I don't give a fuck if there's a Russian tank rollin' down Flatbush Avenue. I ain't shootin' nobody. So call me a faggot! When the war's over, I'll be the faggot with two legs, thank you!' also cuz it's funny but his point is valid

lol, I thought about that also when I saw this thread.

im a former marine and openly gay in the military doesnt work. First you live in small rooms and you dont get to choose who or how many people you live with. You wouldnt agree with putting a male in a womans room. Straight people are uncomfortable around gays. 2nd, its a testosterone driven job which means openly gay people will get bashed. 3rd the government wont spend the money for seperate barracks so once again to accomodate the few the masses must suffer!!!

Here's my take ...

My take is that people shouldn't be talking about sex at work ... period. So this is really a non-issue. It shouldn't be "don't ask, don't tell" it should be "work and don't talk about sex." That solves the problem nicely.

But no, select people have to make big situations -- both straight and gay -- and they have to argue over bullshit. It's the same bullshit as school prayer, with select parents making big deals over their kid's right to pray and select teachers trying to overly enforce "no religion" by stomping on any kid that wants to take 60 seconds to pray, but is not disrupting the class (like when a test is being handed out).

It's about argumentative bullshit by people who want to make issues. The US military has a strict standard on many "morality" aspects, including the fact that men and women cannot engage in many social aspects either.

One standard is very easy to implement. Make a few examples and that will be that. After all I can get a shitload thrown at me at my job if I even refer to anything about sex. So why do some people get a "free pass" -- straight or not?

Again, this is as much of a non-issue as school prayer is. It's just that some people have made it an issue. And the problem with Obama is, "oh, it's against my religion," no matter how much lip service he gives it, he "doesn't get it." At least other, select Democrats (and a few, although far more rare, Republicans) actually do.
