How so, Sam? Do you really think those who hold the office actually have no impact? If that's the case, hard to be upset with the likes of President Obama.

I think you're right on a few levels, though. The President gets blamed for every single thing that happens under his watch from the stock market to gas prices. I think the President doesn't have quite as much autonomous power as many people believe.

I don't think Carter was a bad president as others believe. He became president at a time when things just got the best of him and what I really admired about Cater was he tried to find other solutions instead of starting war. I read that National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski had a lot to do with the end of Carter's presidency.

Carter is a decent man. He just wasn't up to the job of president. He had nothing to do with the botched rescue mission in the Iranian desert. Had that horrible accident not happened, he probably would have rescued the hostages. As much as I disagreed with his policies, there is no denying that he may be one of our presidents that had the most integrity.
