OEM, Computer Parts

Where's the best place to buy them?

I'm looking for a mouse and maybe a keyboard for a Gateway GT5056.

Anyone else looking for parts?

List them here. :hatsoff:

I should post more!
I am in the process of building a new PC and have ordered most of parts from http://www.newegg.com.

A mouse and keyboard are for the most part pretty much standardized either PS/2 or USB, once you know what type they are it is just a matter of getting what you like. That being said, I would suggest taking a hands-on approach to both the mouse and the keyboard by checking them out a local store, friend, or some other means. make sure they fell comfortable to you prior to buying them. It could save you some money and pain in the long run.

My current build is a water cooled Intel i7 920 processor on an Asus P6T6 WS Revolution motherboard with 12GB of G.SKILL DDR3-1600 RAM, 2 1TB Western Digital hard drives, 3 XFX GTX285 video cards (also water cooled) a Samsung Blu-Ray reader/DVD-RW, Thermaltake 1200W power supply in a Mountain Mods Extended Ascension Case running MS Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition.

I have all of the parts except a few of the water cooling parts.

Sure its overkill, but I am just doing my part to stimulate the economy.:D

i use what works since i go through a keyboard in a year or so, and it doesn't matter if i get a better one, they all get put through hell. . .

and from what i can find, gateway just rebrands microsoft keyboards, so You Might want to grab a microsoft keyboard
same with the mouse, you wont find gateway keyboards unless you want to get them off ebay

I will look around and see what I can find.

The first page of mice were high.

I'm not spending $85 on a mouse right now.

I saw a few nice looking mice for $10-$25.

I too would recommend NewEgg, but I do know that Gateway computers have historically been pretty bad in terms of deterioration of peripherals, so be sure you get the right parts.

as long as his computer has ps2 or usb ports anything will work, which i think it does from the specs i just checked

They should work. Trust me, I've seen many, many gateways that just magically decide not to work with new peripherals.

my only experience with gateways, is not buying one. . .

and as long as everything is up to date and you uninstall the drivers for the old stuff first, i have seen that happen a lot, people just hook new things up and forget about uninstalling the old stuff or even putting in the new drivers for the new stuff, then wonder why their computer doesn't work

Exactly. Added to that, getting any sort of support from Gateway is like pulling teeth.
