I have tried it a few times and joined a couple of "free" sites. After a few sessions they were all like "Pay now to read messages" 
Okay, it was my fault not to upload any picture of me and maybe I got the "wrong" intentions to join them because I just wanted a girl to fuck :dunno:

1. I have joined a couple sites and found them not to much to my liking in the past.
2. Women should post messages similar to the ones you posted but then we'd likely assume they were male posers. They also could be drunk or under-age limits pretending to be of age. Or they just got no game or this works for them with their skanks they hook up with.

In my opinion and experience its almost like sorting spam mail from the ones you want to read. Its unfortunately that there isn't a filter of some sort on those sites. Its the 80-20 rules... not sure if you've heard of it but it basically means 80% muppets 20% normal/logical people. Well thats what i think anyway.
What you've written really shows a willingness to open yourself up to people, as putting as much as you did shows a lot of character and trust. But also proves to be a good filter in itself, from what people say from the first line.
so unfortunately its comes down to how much you're willing to spend time filtering out the 80%. And don't just give up for that reason. I like to think im one of the 20% and i've had some success with those sites so we're not all bad.
So to answer your questions 1) yep have had experience 2) there is NO good reason to ignore what people write on they're profiles 3) in all honestly it be something along the lines of yours, open, honest, and to the point.

I don't have a whole lot to say, because I've never tried any sort of online dating. I do have to say that Nikki's profile is very interesting, certainly has some core elements of what I'd want in a serious relationship.
However, I also have to say that I am a jaded bastard and I'm really disgusted and tired with the entire human race generally, so that kind of kills my chances with women. Good women are incredibly rare and it would be even more rare that any of them would be interested in me after hearing what I have to say.
So instead of that, here I am just looking at porn, categorizing it like crazy and identifying unknown models. Quite a bad substitute.. and I certainly won't ever compromise and start having one night stands "just for fun". I would sooner cut off my dick than do that. Online dating or not, it definitely seems I'm fucked either way, and certainly not in the preferred sense of the word...

You nailed it right on the fucking head. I got a POF profile and I don't messages anymore because I usually don't get a response and the girls get tons and tons of messages and I don't want to be another face in the clouds. I just go onto browse. That's it. I dated one girl online and we just went our own ways. I miss the a/s/l days...it was so easy to chat with a girl online.

So I have a POF account and I've gone out on a few dates with some guys off there but there hasn't been anything serious out of it.. What I don't understand is that I get on average about 15-20 messages a day.. A majority of them say "hey what's up" when it clearly says on my profile not to send just a hey what's up message because they're boring and generic.. The rest of the messages are "Damn u iz sexay mommi u needa get at mi!" or "holy shit your tits are huge! What size iz dey?"

So my questions for my freeones guys are:
1) Have you tried online dating & what's your thoughts on it?
2) As a male, what on earth makes you think it's a good idea to send messages like the one above?
3) Just for fun if you're bored write a little example of what your online profile would say if you had one lol
I have tried it and have had quite a few good experiences...and even the bad ones weren't 'bad' as much as it was one chick who basically thought she still looked like the pic she posted from 8 years earlier.
I believe anyone is going to get out of it what they put into it. That means if you're a man or woman and you emphasize your looks above anything else substantive about you...you will attract people who don't have much substantive about themselves beyond their looks, etc.

You should be sensible enough to know they aren't going to respond to you if they don't have that kind of wording or talk like that in their profile.
I have tried POF before...that name is fitting. There are just too damned many people (chicks in my case) there to choose from...
