Sorry, but I haven't found Letterman to be funny since he left NBC,and I don't think I've ever laughed at the Top Ten List.:2 cents:
He's clearly Generation-X, and not Generation-Y material. The same was with Carson and the Boomers, and not Generation-X. Funny changes every generation, with only some overlap. It has a lot to do with childhood and other things.
I mean, as a kid, watching the cartoon, didn't you imagine if they would only say stupid things in that voice? It fills that old joke. But if you didn't grow up with the cartoon, it doesn't nearly as well.
In all honesty, they could have made some better ones. But a few of those, damn funny. But I could easily see how some might see little humor in it.
Awesome! Does AOL still do the "You've got mail" thing? It would be cool to have Optimus Prime notify you of that kind of stuff. lol
Dude, I was thinking the exact same thing! But like everything, it gets old quick.
Back in the mid-'90s, when AOL was starting that whole marketing crap, I got one of my colleagues from Brooklyn to record something for me. I then setup my Pegasus Mail client (an old Novell Bindery + POP3 client that was very effective) to sound off at work ...
"You've got f(bleep)ing mail!" I just inserted the standard, brief "bleep" soundbite. I got a good 3 months before an executive just about fired me when he heard it.
