Just wondering has anyone every played? Did you enjoy it or did you just waste your valuable time? Anyone care to elaborate on the finer points for those who might not be familiar?

I find it very boring, even more so than Slot machines. Pinball is much more fun.

I tried it once; it's one of those things you 'just gotta do' in Japan. I didn't get it. Like knowone, I don't get slots or anything else which requires hours of sitting with very low odds of paying off. Which is just as well... they don't really want my kind in there.

supposedly if you play a brand new machine your guaranteed to win. I heard the your probability of winning goes down with more plays; that's why you shouldn't play in a parlour that's empty.

I find that extremely hard to believe, (and I grew up in the industry). It sounds something like the old "rumor" that you should play slot machines on the ends of the rows, because they payout more. (There's just a germ of truth, but it's been distorted and blown out of porportion for years.)
