China is a communist dictatorship. Nobody wants that. Hopefully our Corporations will recognize that too someday.

I think Bush led us to a Depression and Obama is tasked with getting us out. Shouldn't we be fair to both sides and give Obama's decisions a chance to work? If the US returns to the road to prosperity this summer...exactly what will then be the criticism of Obama? That we could've let *the market* fix the mess:1orglaugh

I'll grant that, in some aspects, the Bush admin was asleep at the switch, but he was not the sole cause of the mess we're in. Obama worries me because he has increased government spending to astronomic levels, and I'm not even including the bailouts being tacked on to the taxpayer credit card. He is increasing spending on social programs and he's doing it at a time when there is no way to fund them except to go into deficit spending mode. (yes, I know the GOP was guilty of the same type of spending, and that's why they lost control of Congress)
I was in China last week and I saw where we're headed. Almost total dependency on the government, an elite class whose sole objective is to maintain separation from the working class and develop & increase the working class' dependency on government. That's where we're headed.

Actually he has not been in office even 2 months yet.Lets give a him at least a year before we pronunce him even comparable to GWB who will almost assuredly be up there as one if not the worst president in modern history.Its much worse then episodes of stupidity as a legacy for GWB, its leaving office with an economy looking worse then maybe since the depression,having started wars(Iraq) based on now known total fabrications with really bad planning that has made it a quagmire.There is really no area foreign or domestic that looks better for Bush having been president,we are in much worse shape in every area then when he took office.If in 4 years it is not overwhelmingly apparent that we are on a better footing in all areas I will be the 1st to say Obama should go(will support another dem against him though lol as the republicans are just beyond consideration as they really are wrong on just about every issue IMO).

That sounds basically the same as how America has been for decades already, except most of our elite just don't give a crap about the working class on way or another at all as long as they are getting theirs. :dunno: If people don't want the working class to be dependent they need to make sure all of them are getting the fair resources from the work where they do not to need anything in the first place, which didn't happen then and doesn't happen now.

In his dream he lays out a detailed agenda; replacing Treasury Secretary Geithner with Steve Forbes, forcing bailed out companies to file bankruptcy, extending temporary assistance to those losing jobs as a result and a zero-sum budget that he “…would defend with my life and honor.”

He dreams of a flat tax, a return to the gold standard and telling the judiciary "Hands off religion, as the First Amendment dictates. And you will no longer legislate from the bench. Keep your personal ideas to yourselves, and enforce the legislated will of the people." He ends aid to countries that vote against U.S. positions in the U.N. "If they're not for us, they're agin' us. They can go on without our aid." and would overturn the Obama provisions aiding to the people of Gaza and international family planning agencies.
