Penthouse magazine and porn stars

had a subscription for a few years back in the early 1990's but got turned off completely by Guccione's sicko obsession with pissing. Looked through a few recent issues and it seems that every chick in the photo sets is a porn star. I mean every chick. There isn't really anything wrong with that, but what made Penthouse go in this direction, rather then recruiting from strip clubs/girls off the street.*











*I know that this a myth. Not the strip club part, the chicks off the street.

I have been subscribed to penthouse for the last few years and I think its probably the best Adult Mag out there.. Idk what made them go the direction they are in but I hope they dont change it

I got no issues with Penthouse's direction, like it was said, its one of the best adult mags out.

I haven't peeped these magazines in over 10 years, but Penthouse, Hustler, and Swank were pretty good before the advent of the Internet.

Well, it could be that there are a shit load more porn "stars" these days. Although in my book you need a little bit more than a web cam and low self esteem to put star in your billing.

I canceled my subscription to Penthouse in 2004 when Guccione lost control of the magazine as it appeared to be going down hill fast. The models that were being put in the magazine were no where near as hot as they had been under Guccione, for six months straight there was not a single porn star in the magazine. I honestly think they were taking just any women they could find off the street and putting them in the magazine. At the time I could swear you could put a Penthouse right next to a Maxim and the two magazines looked almost the same only the Maxim women were hotter. Back when Guccione ran the magazine they did find 'dancers' who were looking for modeling work and put them in the magazine. Some of the most famous Dancers to grace Penthouses pages were Lynn Johnson, Amy Lynn, Julie Strain, and Gina LaMarca.
If Penthouse is now putting Porn Stars in it's pages once again it just might save it because if it is as bad now as what I was getting in 2004 I don't think it will last long with better publications available.
