From the Iowa State Fair. My hometown, again.

The mullet, alternately known as the Mississippi mud flap, the neck blanket, the Kentucky waterfall, Achy Breaky hair, the Camaro cut.

On a woman: Femmullet.

On a child: Child abuse.

And a few words from the "winner." There really are no winners here, though. Just a sad commentary.

The judges went through the motions, but really, there was no contest. Last year's winner, Flash, took second place. The winner sported tattered jean shorts, a ribbed white tank top and aviator shades.

"This means a lot to me," mullet winner Nate Schoenfeld, 30, an Omaha man originally from Atlantic, told the crowd after a fist-pumping celebration. "I think this is the only individual award I've ever gotten first place in."
