Playstation 3 (PS3) Games: Recommendations...

I wish they would either drop the price for PS3 by about $100 less or a little more, or offer some sort of coupons for it. It's been out 2 or 3 years now and it's still $400 at the least.

Well considering they lose money everytime they make a PS3 (cost of production > profit from sale) I don't think the price is going down anytime soon.

I think about buying Assassin's Creed and/or Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

Good choices?

I always thought Assassin's Creed looks pretty cool.

And I like Racing Games and the Midnight Club commercial looks damn nice. Its made with the GTA IV engine if Im not mistaken.

Yeah absolutely. This price is ridiculous!

far cry 2 is wicked

I dont know. The game looks good, but I actually dont like to play First Person Shooter on a console. I like it more to play such games on the PC with a mouse and keyboard.

L3ggy

Special Operations FOX-HOUND
AC is a good game the first play through, but it's got bad replay value, although it's a fun fighting game.

Is the PS3 internet network free to use or do you have to pay a monthly fee to access it? :dunno:

Having played one of these fucking machines just the other day, I have to say I WANT ONE!!!!

I havent had a games console since the PS1, which even when I had I played once or twice and never played again. But a friend of mine has a PS3 and now I think Im addicted to it. I keep dropping by and asking to play I even pay for it.

And when I dont have any money I fall to my knees crying and shout 'Come on man I'll suck your dick'

......okay thats ^^^ a lie, but I would really like to have one. :D

Porn is my life.
I don't recommend Gamespot as they are extremely M$ biased. I used to love Gamespot because of their nice website design but they are just so damn biased. I recommend IGN, their website may be a little more confusing but their reviews are a little more neutral...

I don't recomment using any sites review for determining whether or not to get a game, I find players reviews to be more insightful. I would only use the site review to find out more about the game, their pretty thorough in that reguard. I generally use Gamespot for this because it's easy to navigate and there are tons of player reviews.

I am so pissed off right now. I just found out that the Playstation 3 system won't play the Playstation 2 games. I would have thought that the PS3 would have played ALL of the Playstation games, including PS2 and the original Playstation games. I think Sony just did this so we would buy the Playstation 3 games and rob us suckers blind. If you work for Sony's video game division, you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to rob your customers. I have spent a fortune on Playstation games the last several years.

I don't know about your system, but mine plays PS2 games. Some games however they will not play. I don't remember the list, or if there even is one, I'm sure there is, but I know for a fact it is backwards compatible to some degree. I know it does play PS1 games, as I have played plenty. So I would readily assume it plays PS2 games.

They using an emulator that allows you to play ps1 and ps2 games, but not all games are supported. Even some ps1 games have problems. PS3 great but i do have some problems playing online lagg and d/c. Peer to peer games are even worse with all the kiddies "cheating" leaving the room when they are losing. I don't know how this is with xbox as i never played xbox. So it could be a common problem.

I agree, I just mainly use reviews to get an understanding of what type of game it is and a generally sense of whether or not it will be good. But I mean, if a game gets a 10 on a review site, it's probably a good game. Like I said before though, I used to love Gamespot because how easy their layout is but damn they are biased so that's why I like IGN a little better because at least I know they're a little more fair when judging a game.

There are different versions of the PS3, some play all the games and some don't.

Yes, the new 80GB version plays PS3 games only. The older versions like the 40GB plays also PS2 games.

The new 160GB version also doesn't play PS2 games. Hopefully they will change it one day, but I don't even think that is possible.

I should post more!
The first generation of PS3's which were 20GB and 60GB models had legacy support at the hardware level through the emotion chip. My personal experience was that every PS2 game I tried on my 60GB PS3 worked without a problem The second generation consisted of a 60GB PAL model and an 80GB NTSC model which used software emulation to play legacy games, I have been told by friends who own this model that performance can be spotty. Later model 80GB systems along with the 40GB and 160GB have no legacy support whatsoever.

Here is some linkage if anyone would like proof.

I hope this helps.
