so from what i understand, a mod can leave freeones for any amount of time, return to freeones, and they are automatically allowed to be a mod again?

shouldnt the rest of the members be allowed to run for that spot?

Not exactly. Nikki was demoted back to regular member when she left. That was that. When she returned she was considered a regular member, and would have had to wait until the next moderator search to apply, just like any other member. The reason why she was just brought in like that is because we lost a moderator, and since she already had experience she was brought in to replace him. If we hadn't lost a moderator she would've remained a regular member until Petra decided to look for new moderators, and then she would've had to apply just like anyone else interested in the job.

i still think she should of had too apply, just like everyone else

No, he was replaced by the latest class of moderators. However, you should still be thankful to GregC, for GregC is a great being, and we owe much to GregC. :bowdown:

At the time of her return there was no need for a moderator search. When we lost one of the group it was decided that instead of going through the regular application process, the screening, the background checks, the security clearances, and the ritual sacrifices we would just bring in someone who had already proven she could handle the job.

Right, but we weren't really going for "Maybe she'll work out if we give her a chance." We were going for "She's already proven that she can do it, so let's bring her on." I'm sure there are 50 members who would be better moderators than any of us currently here, but they have either not applied when the time has come, or they haven't been selected. That's just the way it goes.

i have no proof on weather your skills as a moderator are good or bad, i am sure they are good (i hope)

Ever since I caught that woman looking at me on the bus when I was 10, I've always considered myself the observant type, but this lowering of rank (or deranking as I like to call it) of Nikki's once prosperous modulation position to that of a worthless plebeian like the rest of us seems to have completely passed me by. Now, I can only describe what I'm currently feeling as that of a complete sense of abandonment, as if every deep seated notion of self I've ever held have been lost, seemingly never to return. Like a dead hooker, lost amongst the tall grass that grows next to the stagnant, putrid waters of a lonely river that has been all but forgotten.
