I think the situation is not as black or white.

There are rules, laws or common sense ways to behave or not to behave in evry country, and while it is okay to discuss them and disagree, if you act against them in special areas, you will get trouble.

The protester could have made their point without getting into the officers faces so much

Awhole lot of camera guys, and a whole lot of people troubling the pece of the memorial

Have you ever been to Paris, and tried to walk into Notre Dame with a hat or cap on? A guy at the door will slap it off your head. Had that happening to me.

Or in Venice, you are not allowed to bring your own food to certain areas, because the café-owners want to make a living from selling their goods.

Of course, the excessive use of force and arresting, handcuffing etc without telling the people in advance to either leave or stop the things they do are a scandal.

Oh come on. The guy was doing a moderate shuffle and the other guy was kissing his girlfriend, the way security handled it was fucking stupid and unnecessary. I understand laws and what not, but this is just straight up ridiculous. As for the crowd, I respect them for taping this unnecessary kerfuffle.

I think that the reason they were arrested is because for any demonstration you need a permit at the National Mall & the memorials. I guess the police interpreted the flash mob as such. Normally the Park & Capitol Police will tell you to stop & move on unless you are defacing property, etc. I know this defeats the purpose/concept of a flash mob. As far as the couple kissing, you can lip lock all day so something probally happened prior for the arrest.

the security or police or whatever are trying to speak to them, like typical spoiled never taught any form of discipline over priviledged american brats they won't keep their yappers shut for 2 seconds then they start dancing around like idiots in defiance of the security people.
Then like the candy ass pansies they are the minute the cop goes to arrest them they stated screaming "Ow, youre hurting my little arm" and screaming "why, why?".

I don't like police in general, but in this case I do side with them.

well we don't know why the cops began speaking to them in the first place.
Maybe they were
A- minding their own business.
B- Causing a scene, disturbing people.

but when cops are talking to you you don't
A- talk back after every sentence.
B- Start dancing around in defiance of them.

If you do then you put the cops in a position to
A- walk away and give in to you.
B-Arrest you.
If they choose B its not gonna be gentle.
They are trained to do it quick and with force if there is any resistance.

Cops do messed up stuff,over-react, use excessive force. I saw none of that here, just some college brats getting what they were asking for bro,

Technically, cops can't really shut you up if you're not resisting, the dude was restrained. It's not like they can use force to literally shut the person up.
