Those guys were acting totally inappropriately, so yes they got what they deserve. You don't act stupid in a historic place.

Turd got what he deserved. Actually, probably got off easy. I'd wrench those wrist crushers so fucking tight he'd never be able to use his hands again.

Doesn't surprise me. This country hates anything peaceful. I guess Jefferson having sex with his slaves was okay but a guy kissing his girlfriend is not.

If you was George Jefferson and you had that tight round black beaver staring you in the face everyday you'd be bangin it too GB.

He had a relationship with one of his slaves, he was actually very good to her and I believe they were in love
Without getting into a debate about slavery, Jeffersons slaves weren't captured guinea natives brought over against their will.
They were born in the states, lived on his property and basically worked for food and board.
They were allowed to marry and have families.

If you break it down to its basics its not that different from being a worker in today's world.......either way your'e a freakin slave.

That's fucked up....from what I saw, the cops way overreacted. However, the mouthy dude who kept going on at the cops was an idiot. I learned a long time ago that to argue with a cop is like digging your own grave. Give it up and let it go.

That said, you couldn't see what happened prior to the incident as well so it may have been one of those "you had to be there" moments. Still, it seems the cops were out of line in my book. Let people express themselves as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of anyone else.

Agree on both points... the way I was raised, when a cop tells you to do something, you say "yes sir" and move along... that's an argument you will ALWAYS lose. It's a stupid rule, but it's the rule. But yeah, when the one guy got bodyslammed, that was a little too much. But you have to always remember cops are people with high stress jobs, and honestly don't kick the hornets nest!

My wife doesn't know I'm a perv!
I really don't understand how anyone can rationalize the way the cops handled the situation.

It takes a special kind of sociopath to become a cop

Rent-a-cops I don't care what they say. :D

Yes, most are nuts.

Higher standards must be set to become one.

i hate people like you. honestly, shut the hell up. just cause theres a small amount of bad cops in the world doesnt mean that every single one is an asshole nutjob.

why is it that cops automatically get a bad rep. just because theyre in a position of power theyre suddenly the evil force of oppression! oh no!

if youll notice first of all, the video started after the officers had actually began their citations. so we really dont know what was happening. there was no police brutality at all, it was handled by the book as training goes. typical over reaction by civilians.

I read into this and evidently these folks were protesting a US Court of Appeals ruling that was spurred by a group that was dancing at the Jefferson Memorial 2 years ago and were arrested.

The previous dancers caused a lower court to find that "the Jefferson Memorial is a nonpublic forum reserved for the tranquil commemoration of President Jefferson's legacy."

However, there is no law actually stating that dancing is illegal.

Honestly, imo...it's a little ironic that people can't peacefully dance in a monument paid for and maintained by taxpayer money (in honor of the man who helped write the declaration of independance) as long as they don't intrude on other people's experiences in the monument.

Said court decision: http://dcist.com/attachments/dcist_sommer/jeffersonmemorialdecision.pdf

There does seem to be precedent for their actions it in this particular case. A little heavy handed maybe...

Also, sentences start out with a capital letter.

Yes, because they are over reacting little boys with a tin badge and a little power that goes to their heads. Just look at New Orleans most of the police ran away. The ones who were left behind enforced an unconstitutional law and confiscated guns. That's illegal. :nono:
