Police officer assaults teen at a school unprovoked

This terrible incident that occured back in May took place when apparently, a Police officer assaulted a student just because the kid didn't have his shirt tucked in. What the fuck was the guy's problem, anyway? Was it really necessary to beat up a kid who was willing to cooperate and surrender to the school principal quietly?

The whole thing was caught on tape.

Yes, but a tape with no audio doesn't really offer any evidence to prove that the officer wasn't provoked. Special needs or not, the kid is a 15 year old high schooler...it's kiiiiind of hard to find a 15 year old high schooler that isn't a smart ass, especially towards police officers. With that being said...even if this kid said "GO FUCK YOURSELF" to this officer, the push and tackle were a little much. I mean...come on, dude.

(apparently the cops mom recently passed away.)
then the kid called him the "N" word , ( the cops grandfather was half black on his mothers cousins uncles side).

Exactly. My brother who is also 15 is labeled 'special needs' which is stupid. He is a teenager with an attitude, yeah he's been through some shit in his life but he still is very capable of making good and bad desicions. Parents who don't want to or don't know how to handle their children let some bullshit physcatrist shove pills down these kids throats trying to 'make them better' when theres nothing wrong with them! Hell most of them just need a damn ass kicking! Yeah if this kid had autism and some serious learning disability (not 'behavioral disability') I think it would be different but if he's labeled with some bullshit like 'add' or as 'emotionally disturbed' then he just needs to stop being babied. However I do agree with chef that even if the kid wasnt special needs at all, even if he told the cop to fuck off whatever he said really shouldn't have warranted that much from the cop, I mean he should be professional and calm, not irrational like that. Anyways.. just my :2 cents:

The kid suffers from brain injuries after being in a car accident. That is the reason why he is in the academy. I think the cop also suffers from the "too much pride syndrome". You expect someone with a brain injury to always say nice things and he's only 15 years old?

Verbal arguments should always end up in physical fights. Just like when someone disses me, I should go shoot them.

WOW! I've defended what others have called "police brutality" before in other threads but this was neither a reasonable or necessary use of force by what I can see. It almost looks like two kids fighting, or should I say a bully assaulting another kid. The shove was one thing, and excessive at that, but the swing that the "cop" takes is definitely over and above.

Of course we do only have a poor video and no audio but WOW!

Did anyone else think the Hillary Clinton impersonator was just gonna walk on by oblivious to what was going on when she entered the frame instead of closing that door? LOL

Unnecessary use of force, period. The kid seems to have said something before he found himself hugging the lockers. The cop reacted in a way he's trained not to. Reminds me of an incident in Cambridge, MA not too long ago....

That video actually looks like the attack was planned well in advance.Watch as others immediately are there to help the police officer once the kid is on the ground and others in the school just go on about their buisness like they fully expected what was happening.It's the cops former school they say,bet he thinks he is like some big shot coming back us a cop with a gun and is king of the school now and has real issues with being the big bad guy he imagines himself to be.Power corrupts lol.

The officer knew where he was, he knew the history of the school - even if he did not know the history of the particular student, he should have had at least an idea. An act of violence like that can in no way be justified over a few words, no matter how personal they might seem.
Sounds like the officer has been relieved of his duty. Good.

Like chef said, if there is no audio, it is kind of hard to judge. If it was unprovoked, then that cop needs to get fired. If he was provoked by the kid being a idiot, then let him knock some sense into him. You don't disrespect the cops if they ask you to do something.
