but Pelosi has to take the cake! This is a video from 2006 when she encouraged protestors to take on Bush. Now that her agenda is getting protested, she calls it "un-American."

You can't make up something that funny

Way to mischaracterize and take a statement out of context.

She was clearly herself being antagonized by a disruptive crowd an apparently believed then as she does now drowning out others whether you're an anti-war protester or anti-health care protester is not constructive discourse.

She's a fan of people who disrupt in the context of FDR....when did FDR storm town hall meetings and shout down opponents in an effort to stifle a message?

People who want go beyond making their point and expressing themselves as is their right to the point of trying to stifle the perspective of others IS UNAMERICAN in my view. What could be more unAmerican?

Robbing from the rich to give to the poor is Un-American. But then again, that's just wrong everywhere in my opinion.

I'd make a horrible politician. Just sit in my office all day blazing from the pot that came from the evidence room in the station.

Agreed and I would add...robbing anyone to give to anyone else is wrong.

Now all we have to figure whether or not your perception of robbing someone fits with reality.

Since the US constitution authorizes the US Congress to "lay and collect taxes" and further authorizes them to appropriate said taxes how they see fit as long as it's not an illegal or unconstitutional act....let's just take that off the table as an act of robbery.

Next?

To tax somebody more b/c they earn more money than someone else is wrong. I'm not going to school so I can pay a higher percentage of my income in taxes than someone who chose a different route. That is robbery, just under the guise of gov't appropriation.

Of course it's un-American. The American way is to rob from the poor to give to the rich.

They just use more covert ways and utilize the system to do it.

Sorry you feel that way but it is their constitutionally mandated discretion to do so.

Some might argue an administration granting no bid contracts worth billions to the former company the VP in that administration just recently ran is akin to an embezzlement or robbery as well by the same standards you decry.

With that mentality, the dems are un-American then, since they want the wealthy to pay a higher tax percentage.

All of this is ridiculous anyways. We should have a flat tax rate for all, regardless of what income bracket someone is in. That way no one can complain.

For the record I'm not a democrat.

I don't operate off the same way of thinking as you. I don't see people that have more needing to give more to the society that has fostered them as "stealing".

If you have no children or have no children in school anymore, is it "stealing" to have to pay taxes for other people's children to go to school? If your rich and can afford security or are able to protect yourself is it "stealing" to have to pay taxes so other people can have the services of law enforcement and the judicial system? If our country is in trouble and is about to be invaded is requesting the services of a 20 year old man in the draft "stealing" because some 70 year old women doesn’t have to serve? Is it "stealing" if you might have to help pay for a road or bridge that is vital to have but you will probably never use in your life? Taxes are a mechanism our society needs to maintain being a civilization. I see providing a lot of things that I might not use, but other people in my society need, like public education or health care, as a duty not just for me but for everybody of living in society I'm in. It only makes sense and is fair that we put the burden of our society’s duties on people by how much they are easily able to bear that burden.

I find them all a joke! It all runs in cycles..... I take offence to saying us Dems are un-american, you see the U.S. as perfect, we see it as a place that can be improved. You must not like Democracy, which we can all differ and discuss through our disagreements.
